Welcome to Spark and Scribble, a home for narrated short stories born of worldbuilding chaos and dangerously nerdy inspiration. I’m a professional daydreamer powered by too much coffee, funny-shaped dice, wild “what ifs,” and a love of all genres... yes maybe tilting more sci-fi/fantasy).
Are you seeking a few minutes of escape? This corner is for you. I’ve challenged myself to write, narrate, and produce as many audio stories as I can and share the journey along the way.
If these stories help you escape, even for a moment, then they’ve done their job. Where should you start? The Beginning
Mia didn’t mean to make a friend. She just wanted a quiet table, a place to study, and somewhere that wasn’t home.
The girl who sat down beside her one afternoon was strange in ways Mia couldn’t quite name always there when she arrived, still there after she left, full of questions no one had ever thought to ask Mia before.
A cozy story about loneliness, unexpected friendship, and the dreams we carry for the people we love.
Voice Cast
Emily: voiced by Belinda Brady
Host of Crime Scenes with Coffee Beans. A podcast covering true Australian murders. While coffee is not mandatory to listen, it definitely helps. Episodes drop fortnightly. Bonus ghost story episodes included, because of course they are. Find her podcast via the link below.
Mia: voiced by Emily Wood
Musician, singer at Emily and the Moon, and host of Shockholm Syndrome, a podcast where disturbing movies get the psychological deep-dive they deserve, and because “that was messed up” deserves a full analysis. Find her music and her podcast via the links in the below.

Sweet Sunday | Full Circle
He was looking for a book on the Silk Road.
She said two words he hadn't heard in seventeen years.
"Hey. Sweet Sunday?"
What follows is a quiet, honest drama set in a rainy bookstore café, two people who loved each other badly, hurt each other thoroughly, and somehow grew into someone worth knowing. Just not together.
Over black coffee and chamomile tea, they say the things that needed saying. About clinging too hard and pushing too far. About therapy and medication and the terrible relationships that taught them what they actually needed. About the people they lost when they made everyone choose sides.
And about a umbrella that one of them definitely stole on purpose.
"It made us who we are. That's not nothing."

The Black Fen Trilogy III | The Archer
The conscription notice came just after harvest time.
Tobin had a white ash bow, his Pa's, his Grandpa's before him. He'd only ever shot hares and the occasional fox. His wife pressed two salted loaves into his hands and whispered "come back."
He didn't promise.
What followed was mud and rain and arrows loosed into clouds and a battle the knights called glorious, and the priests called holy... and Tobin called a damn meat-grinder.
They called it a victory.
Tobin walked home alone. He didn't tell Lissa about the buzzing in his ears. The way crow feathers made his hands shake. The dreams where the barley field sprouted corpses.
The years passed. His hair turned the color of ash. Then one morning the bed was cold and his boots were gone.
