Welcome to Special Needs Planning: The Podcast created by SENDA
We’re on a mission - creating secure financial futures for every kind of life and every kind of family.
And we’d love you to join us on that journey.
We want to transform the advice market in Special Needs Planning. And that starts with you.
Why?
Because families with SEND dependents have very different financial and inheritance planning needs from those without.
Join us as we keep learning more and in doing so, improve outcomes for some of our most vulnerable clients.
There's a lot of negative press around at the moment around trusts.
But the use of trusts for vulnerable clients or families who have children who will be lifelong dependents can be incredibly beneficial, for many reasons.
Here we talk to Heledd Wyn, SENDA Board Member and Solicitor (TEP) at Rothley Law about what to think about when discussing trusts with clients.

Understanding EHCPs (Education Health & Care Plans) and what it means to your clients
Kelly Lampard is the founder of SEND Navigator, aneurodiversity-informed digital platform currently in development, designed to simplify the SEND system for families.
Alongside building SEND Navigator, she leads the SEND service line at Bath Family Law, supporting families navigating the intersection of separation, education law, and additional needs.
Drawing on both professional training and lived experience as a parent, Kelly is passionate about creating clearer, fairer pathways for children with SEND and the families who support them.
In this episode, Kelly helps to clarify the purpose of an EHCP so that as financial and legal advisers, we can better understand the nature of our client's needs.
