“This Is Unreal”: Hear the Military’s Rendlesham Forest UFO Recording
American airmen went into the woods looking for a crashed aircraft. What they reported instead became one of the most unsettling UFO cases in history. In December 1980, strange lights appeared outside a U.S.-operated military base in Suffolk, England. The reports drew personnel into Rendlesham Forest—and eventually brought their deputy commander out with a tape recorder.
This week on Spicy Alien After Dark, we follow the encounters into a mystery involving military testimony, an official Air Force memo, disputed physical evidence, and a witness’s extraordinary later claim about a coded message. What did the men actually experience? Why did the British government conclude the incident had no defense significance? And how did a search for a possible downed aircraft become a story about something potentially far stranger?
We trace the original records, the competing explanations, and the later claims that transformed Rendlesham into “Britain’s Roswell.”
What’s your take: an extraordinary encounter, a series of misidentifications, or a story that changed with time? Leave your theory in the comments.

The Wendigo: Terrifying Encounters and the Trial of a Wendigo Hunter
Something was making a dragging, gargling sound outside a basement window. For years, two friends heard it—but whenever they checked, nothing was there.
Then one night, their headlights swept across the field behind the house, and they saw something they would never forget. In this episode of Spicy Alien After Dark, we’re exploring the chilling lore of the Wendigo: where it comes from, how it’s described in Indigenous traditions, and the terrifying hunger at the center of the stories.
We’ll also get into the historical case of Jack and Joseph Fiddler, two brothers arrested after the death of a woman believed to be in danger of becoming a Windigo. Their case would lead to a trial—and raise a haunting question about what happens when people believe a threat is already inside their community.
Then we head into the woods with firsthand accounts from people who say they’ve encountered something they can’t explain: towering figures, strange sounds outside bedroom windows, and voices that sound exactly like someone they know. Why do modern descriptions sometimes look so different from older accounts? And could a being whose hunger never stops continue to change over time?Let’s get into it.

He Sent Photos of the Creatures. Then Went Silent. | Hellier Part 1
How the fuck do you ask a stranger for help with the creatures outside your house?
In 2012, paranormal researcher Greg Newkirk received an email from a man calling himself David Christie. His family was frightened. His children were seeing strange figures outside their windows. And he believed an abandoned mine near their Kentucky home had something to do with it.
Then came the photographs—and the silence.
In Part 1 of our Hellier deep dive, we follow the correspondence into a mystery involving an elusive sender named Terry Wriste, cryptic instructions, and coordinates pointing somewhere disturbingly familiar. Before it’s over, a cipher brings an unexpected name back into the story: Indrid Cold.
Welcome to Hellier. This is where it starts.
