Welcome to Spill the Real—a podcast for women in their 40s navigating midlife, motherhood, marriage, and identity shifts. Hosted by two real-life friends, we have honest, unfiltered conversations about what it really feels like to balance it all while wondering, “Is there more?”
From relationships and parenting teens to hormones, purpose, and letting go of guilt—nothing’s off limits.
Think margarita-fueled book club vibes without the reading. If you’ve ever felt restless or ready for more, you’re not alone. Let’s figure it out together.
Money is never just about money.
It’s about how we grew up. What our parents said—or didn’t say. The first paycheck we blew. The credit card mistake we’d rather forget. The things we learned to save for. The things we learned we weren’t supposed to want.
And somewhere along the way, those early money lessons became part of who we are.
Real Talk Question: What is good or bad that you learned about money as a young adult that impacted your mindset today?
In this episode, we’re talking about women and money—and all the weird, wonderful, sometimes completely dysfunctional ways we relate to it.
Because let's be honest: We can be grown women with careers, families, mortgages, retirement accounts and actual adult responsibilities…and still hear our mother's voice in our heads when we spend $75 on ourselves.
“Do you REALLY need that?”
Apparently, Mom is also our financial advisor.
We’re getting into the money lessons we learned as young adults, the mistakes we made, the guilt we sometimes feel about spending, financial independence, money in relationships, and whether our definition of “having money” has changed now that we're in midlife.
And perhaps most importantly, we're asking whether some of the money rules we learned decades ago are still serving us—or whether it's time to rewrite them.

The Fear of Being Rejected
Rejection.
It's one of the few things that can make us feel like we're twelve years old again—no matter how old we are.
Whether it's not getting the job, being left out of the group text, hearing "it's not you, it's me," or watching someone choose someone else, rejection has a way of sticking with us. Sometimes the biggest rejections are obvious. Other times, they're the quiet moments no one else even realizes hurt.
Real Talk Question: What's a rejection that most people probably wouldn't even see as rejection—but it hurt more than you'd like to admit?
In this episode, we're unpacking why rejection hits so hard, why we carry some of those moments for years, and how midlife gives us the chance to rewrite the stories we've been telling ourselves.
We'll laugh about the awkward moments, cringe at some of our younger selves, and remind each other that one "no" doesn't get to define an entire life.

Navigating Teenage Dating; The Parent Edition
Remember when dating was exciting?
Now you're the parent, and suddenly you're running background checks on a 16-year-old because he said "What's up?" instead of "Good evening, ma'am."
Welcome to teenage dating—the phase where your child thinks they're completely mature, and you suddenly understand why your parents acted the way they did.
Real Talk Question: What's something you never thought you'd be a stickler about...until your teenager started dating?
In this episode, we're talking about the emotional roller coaster of parenting teenagers who are starting to date. From setting boundaries and meeting "the boyfriend" or "the girlfriend" to navigating cell phones, curfews, social media, and trying not to embarrass your kid (while secretly hoping you embarrass them just a little), we're sharing the funny, awkward, and heartfelt moments that come with letting go—one date at a time.
