About Spirit Club
Spirit Club is a space for open, honest conversations about spirituality, consciousness, God, meaning, and the mysteries of being human. Hosted by Jordan and Kody, Spirit Club isn't about having the answers or telling you what to believe. It's about following curiosity, asking better questions, exploring different perspectives, and making room for the conversations we often don't know where else to have. We come with questions, experiences, ideas, doubts, wonder, and a willingness to explore—without needing everything to fit neatly into a box. No dogma. No destination. Just two friends exploring the spiritual life together.

God Is Everywhere — Are We Paying Attention?
What if God isn’t something we have to find—but someone who is already present in every part of our lives? In this episode of Spirit Club, Kody and Jordan explore the tension between thinking about spirituality and actually experiencing it. They talk about the limits of the mind, the difference between knowing about God and knowing God, and what it might look like to live in a more constant state of connection with the divine. The conversation moves through The Four Agreements, Gnosticism, Viktor Frankl, the Sermon on the Mount, false summits, the narrow path, generational beliefs, abundance, nature, and the strange paradox of seeking a God who may have been with us the entire time. Jordan shares a story of hiking from one false summit to another with his sister—and how the unexpected adventure became a metaphor for the spiritual journey. Kody reflects on his grandfather’s painful life story and the narratives we inherit, asking whether suffering has to define us or whether we can choose a different relationship with our lives. Along the way, they wrestle with a few big questions: How are we getting in our own way? Can we experience God in both the mountain and the valley? What beliefs are we carrying that need to be shed? And what changes when we begin to see our ordinary lives—the people we love, nature, work, adversity, breath itself—as sacred? Maybe God isn’t scarce. Maybe the invitation has always been abundant, freely given, and available to everyone. Maybe this whole place is a temple.

Beyond Religion: Finding God Everywhere
Where do you actually find God? In this episode of Spirit Club, Jordan and Kody explore the difference between knowing about God and actually knowing God—and whether religion is meant to be the destination or a vehicle that points us toward something deeper. Beginning with a child’s simple question—“Where did God come from?”—the conversation moves through Jesus, Christianity, world religions, nature, synchronicity, suffering, and the search for direct experience with the divine. Jordan and Kody wrestle with what it means to move beyond dogma without abandoning the value of religious tradition. They discuss Jesus as both teacher and pattern, the danger of allowing religious structures to replace direct spiritual experience, and the possibility that the “straight and narrow” path is less about accumulating more rules and more about removing whatever stands between us and God. Kody shares a story of climbing a mountain in his twenties hoping for a biblical encounter with God—only to discover that God isn’t confined to mountaintops. Jordan shares how synchronicities, strange coincidences, and recurring patterns have become one of the ways he notices and follows the divine in everyday life. Maybe God is in the mountain. Maybe God is in the valley. Maybe God is in the wind. And maybe part of the spiritual life is simply learning to notice. In this episode: Knowing about Jesus vs. knowing Jesus Religion vs. direct spiritual experience Jesus and the “way” of suffering What Christianity looks like when it becomes embodied Finding common threads across the world’s religions Logic, reason, and experiences beyond words Mountains, valleys, and encounters with God Getting quiet enough to hear the divine for yourself Synchronicity as a spiritual practice Whether anything truly separates us from God Spirit Club is an ongoing conversation about God, spirituality, consciousness, and the meaning of life.

Into the Unknown: Finding God for Yourself
What happens when we stop outsourcing our spirituality and start learning to hear God for ourselves? In this episode of Spirit Club, Jordan and Kody begin with Joseph Smith’s final moments at Carthage Jail and quickly move into a much bigger conversation about prophets, mentors, heroes, cult leaders, and why human beings naturally gather around spiritual figureheads. From Joseph Smith and Jesus to Taoism, Frozen II, masculine and feminine energy, and the tension between safety and adventure, the conversation explores what it means to honor teachers without surrendering our own spiritual responsibility. Jordan and Kody wrestle with the difference between following a person and following “the way,” the importance of pressure-testing our beliefs, and learning to recognize peace, love, and joy as anchors along the spiritual path. They also explore the divine masculine and feminine, the relationship between internal and external spirituality, religious trauma, spiritual maturity, and the possibility that God’s call may sometimes lead us beyond the safety of what we already know. Ultimately, spirituality isn’t something we can outsource. Teachers, prophets, traditions, friends, and communities may help point the way—but the invitation is to see, experience, and connect with the divine for ourselves. In this episode: Joseph Smith’s final moments and the Masonic distress signal Why we rally around prophets, heroes, mentors, and spiritual leaders The danger of outsourcing your spirituality Jesus as “the way” rather than merely a figurehead Pressure-testing leaders, beliefs, and ourselves Divine masculine and divine feminine Internal spirituality vs. external religion Religious trauma without throwing out the good Frozen II, Elsa, and answering the call into the unknown Peace, love, joy, and gratitude as spiritual anchors “This is not that, and that is not this” Learning to become seers—and asking one another, “What do you see?” Spirit Club is an ongoing conversation about God, spirituality, meaning, and the experience of being alive.

Life Is Art: Following the Clues, Archetypes & the Call to Adventure
What if your life itself is a work of art—and God is speaking through the patterns, synchronicities, and subtle clues along the way? In Episode 8 of Spirit Club, Kody and Jordan begin with Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act and the idea that creativity isn’t reserved for artists. We are all creators, constantly shaping our lives and participating in something larger than ourselves. That opens a conversation about archetypes, Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey, the call to adventure, and the recurring spiritual patterns found in stories from Abraham and Moses to Jesus, The Hobbit, Frozen, Dune, and The Grapes of Wrath. They explore what it means to notice the small promptings of life, to see synchronicities as potentially meaningful, and to approach spirituality with openness rather than cynicism. Kody and Jordan also reflect on their own unlikely reunion at the starting line of the St. George Marathon—and how that moment eventually helped lead to Spirit Club itself. The conversation ultimately comes back to a simple invitation: pay attention. Notice what resonates. Notice what you resist. Notice what keeps appearing. Follow the quiet call into the unknown. Maybe revelation isn’t reserved for a select few. Maybe creativity, inspiration, and connection with God are already within us—and part of the adventure is learning how to listen.

Heaven Is Here: Letting Go, Staying Open & Embracing Change
What if the purpose of life is simply to fully live it? In Episode 7 of Spirit Club, Jordan Tilley and Kody Hansen explore presence, impermanence, openness, transformation, and what it means to create heaven on earth—right here, right now. Kody shares an experience returning to the baseball field where he spent some of the happiest days of his childhood, sparking a conversation about nostalgia, the places that hold our memories, and learning to appreciate beautiful moments without desperately trying to hold onto them. From there, the conversation flows into surrender and Michael Singer’s The Untethered Soul, the Tao Te Ching, contentment versus expansion, peaks and valleys, death and rebirth, and becoming “anti-fragile”—allowing the difficulties of life to actually transform us. Jordan shares a principle that has reshaped the way he approaches everything from sales to pickleball to life itself: amateurs compete; professionals create. Rather than seeing life as a zero-sum game of winners and losers, what happens when we approach it as an ongoing act of creation? They also explore Jesus, radical forgiveness, the sacrament as a ritual of continual rebirth, and the possibility that heaven isn’t merely somewhere we hope to arrive someday—but something available to experience and create now through love, peace, joy, forgiveness, connection, and play. Maybe life is less about holding on, figuring everything out, or perfecting the performance—and more about getting into the river, surrendering to the current, and fully participating in the experience. In this episode: Revisiting the places that shaped us Why beautiful moments don’t need to last forever Surrender, openness, and going with the flow Contentment vs. the desire for growth Peaks, valleys, death, and spiritual rebirth Becoming anti-fragile through adversity Why “amateurs compete; professionals create” Creativity as a spiritual practice Letting go of rigid identities Jesus, forgiveness, and creating heaven on earth Love, peace, joy, and play Why the greatest performance may be to stop performing

The Full Spectrum of Being Alive: Darkness, Feeling & Spiritual Growth
What happens when the search for spiritual growth takes you somewhere you never expected—or somewhere you’re not sure you can come back from? In this episode of Spirit Club, Jordan continues sharing the story of his psychedelic experiences and the spiritual and psychological darkness that followed. He opens up about paranoia, a sense of impending death, feeling like he had “broken” his brain, and eventually reaching a point where he knew he needed help. Jordan and Kody explore the idea of a “spiritual emergency”—the possibility that what looks like psychological breakdown can sometimes overlap with a profound process of transformation, while also acknowledging the very real risks and need for care. Jordan shares the pivotal role his brother played simply by being present, listening, and helping him feel seen. That experience opens a larger conversation about empathy, bearing one another’s burdens, and the unique power of being understood by someone who has walked through darkness themselves. The conversation eventually turns toward what may have been one of the unexpected gifts of the experience: feeling more deeply. Jordan reflects on moving from emotional numbness toward experiencing a wider spectrum of grief, empathy, love, joy, and connection. Kody and Jordan close by exploring what it means to become more fully alive—to embrace pain without being consumed by it, rediscover imagination and play, become like little children again, and recognize that perhaps heaven isn’t only somewhere we’re going. Maybe some of it is available here and now.

Is God in the Darkness?
What happens when your search for God leads you somewhere you never expected? In this episode of Spirit Club, Jordan and Kody explore the spiritual role of darkness—not simply as something evil or negative, but as mystery, uncertainty, depth, and the unknown. Beginning with ideas from the Tao Te Ching, they wrestle with the relationship between light and darkness and whether some of our deepest encounters with the divine may actually require us to enter places we cannot fully understand or control. Jordan then shares one of the most vulnerable chapters of his spiritual journey: years of seeking a profound encounter with God, experimenting with altered states of consciousness, and eventually having two experiences with psilocybin that profoundly affected him. What began as a sincere attempt to deepen his spirituality included moments of beauty, euphoria, connection, and insight—but eventually opened into experiences of darkness, paranoia, thoughts of death, and a prolonged period of feeling unlike himself. The conversation explores psychedelics as potential spiritual tools, the dangers of treating them casually, perfectionism in the spiritual search, ego death, synchronicity, fasting, prayer, meditation, and the importance of community when navigating intense spiritual experiences. This episode ends in the middle of Jordan’s story. In the next conversation, Jordan and Kody continue exploring what happened after these experiences, how the darkness deepened, and how Jordan has begun making sense of it all. At the heart of the episode is a question: What if darkness isn’t always the absence of God—but sometimes one of the places we encounter Him?

Salvation Is Now - Kody's Journey
In Episode 3 of Spirit Club, Jordan turns the mic toward Kody to explore his spiritual journey—from growing up without much formal religion, to joining the LDS Church as a teenager, serving a mission, becoming a husband and father, and eventually moving through a profound faith crisis. Kody shares how pivotal experiences—including his parents’ divorce, the difficult transition home from his mission, and especially the death of his father—forced him to reconsider old ideas about God, salvation, religion, and what it means to live a good life. The conversation explores the difference between religion and spirituality, Kody’s growing hope in universal salvation, the influence of both Christianity and Eastern philosophy, and his evolving belief that God is present within and throughout creation. Rather than viewing salvation as a distant destination to earn, Kody describes arriving at a deeper sense that peace, connection, and “salvation” can be experienced now. That realization has allowed him to release much of the pressure to perform, prove himself, or have every belief perfectly figured out. Jordan and Kody also discuss faith deconstruction and reconstruction, learning to trust your own spiritual experience, embracing change, finding meaning in suffering, and the importance of gratitude, presence, and taking full ownership of what you believe. Ultimately, the episode becomes a conversation about coming home to yourself—discovering that the peace and connection we spend so much of life seeking may already be available within us.

Episode 2: Jordan’s Spiritual Journey
In Episode 2 of Spirit Club, Kody turns the spotlight on Jordan to explore his evolving relationship with religion, spirituality, God, and himself. Jordan reflects on growing up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how a foundation of religion gradually expanded into a broader, more personal pursuit of spirituality. Rather than abandoning his religious roots, he describes his spiritual life as an ever-expanding house—one with room for new ideas, books, traditions, experiences, and ways of connecting with the divine. The conversation explores the shift from living primarily through conformity and fear toward greater freedom, intuition, self-trust, and expression. Jordan shares his fascination with spiritual books, synchronicities, miracles, dreams, physical sensations like chills, and the practice of recording moments that feel like evidence of God’s presence. They also unpack the deeper spiritual meaning behind Jordan’s barefoot lifestyle and his decision to run the St. George Marathon barefoot—a symbol of grounding, returning to divine design, recognizing the earth as holy ground, and his emerging personal mission to “Restore Eden.” The marathon also became the unlikely setting where Jordan and Kody reconnected after years apart, a coincidence that ultimately helped give birth to Spirit Club. Jordan shares why expression has become his word for 2026 after years of suppressing parts of himself, and why he now feels called to act more readily on intuitive nudges, promptings, and invitations to connect with others. Throughout the episode, Kody and Jordan wrestle with questions at the heart of Spirit Club: What is the relationship between religion and spirituality? How do we recognize God in our lives? Can we become more sensitive to synchronicity and spiritual prompting? How much does the lens through which we see the world shape the world we experience? At its core, the episode is about becoming more spiritually alive—pursuing love, peace, joy, freedom, connection, and the courage to fully express the person you were created to be.
