You can't manufacture love, joy, or peace on your own - but the Holy Spirit can grow them in you. This episode examines Galatians 5:22-23 and the nine characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit. Discover how real spiritual fruit grows naturally when you stay connected to God, not through white-knuckled effort.
Notice Paul says "the fruit" singular, not "fruits" plural. This isn't a menu where you pick and choose. When the Holy Spirit fills you, all nine characteristics should start showing up in your life. Not perfectly, not all at once, but progressively.
Can you manufacture genuine love for someone who's hurt you? Can you create deep joy when life is falling apart? No. These aren't things you work up - they're things that grow in you when the Spirit fills you. That's why it's called the fruit of the Spirit, not the fruit of your effort.
I share about my terrible temper and how I tried so hard to control it on my own, only to fail repeatedly. The breakthrough came when I stopped trying to manage my anger and started asking to be filled with the Spirit. Over time, self-control and patience grew - not because I white-knuckled it, but because the Spirit was producing His fruit in me.

[#0009] Filled vs. Controlled
Being filled with the Spirit isn't about having more of God - it's about Him having more of you. This episode unpacks Ephesians 5:18 and the comparison between being drunk with wine and being filled with the Spirit. Learn what it really means to surrender control and let the Holy Spirit influence everything you do and say.
Paul makes an interesting comparison - don't be drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit. When someone's drunk, alcohol controls their behavior, speech, and decisions. Being filled with the Spirit is similar, but in the best possible way. He influences everything, but leads to life and peace instead of destruction.
The verb "be filled" is present tense, continuous action. It's not be filled once and done. It's keep on being filled, moment by moment. Being filled isn't about having more of Him - it's about Him having more of you. It's about surrender.
I share my daily struggle with this - some mornings I surrender well, and by ten o'clock I've taken control back. The beautiful thing is the Holy Spirit is patient with us. He doesn't force His way. But when we invite Him to fill us, everything changes. We have access to power, love, and peace we don't naturally have.

[#0008] The Helper God Sent
The Holy Spirit isn't distant or absent - He's your Helper, advocate, and constant companion. This episode explores John 14:16-17 and introduces a week-long journey into what it truly means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Discover why Jesus called Him "another advocate" and what that means for your everyday life.
Jesus spoke these words the night before His crucifixion, promising His disciples another Helper just like Him. The word "advocate" means someone called alongside to help - like a defense attorney who stands with you. The Holy Spirit isn't less than Jesus. He's God, fully divine, available to all believers everywhere, all the time.
I share about a season when I felt completely alone, and how the Holy Spirit reminded me that He's not just watching from heaven - He's right here, advocating for me, helping me, guiding me. That changes how you face Monday morning, handle conflict, and make decisions.
This week we're going deeper into what it means to be filled with this Helper. Today, just let this truth settle in: You have an advocate. You have the Spirit of truth living in you. You're never truly alone.

[#0007] The Joy of Serving Others (Week Wrap-Up)
This final episode of the week brings together everything we've explored - peace, forgiveness, faithfulness, love, trust, and courage - showing how they all overflow into serving others. Discover how serving in love becomes the practical expression of our faith and brings unexpected joy.
This week we've journeyed through so much - finding peace in uncertainty, the power of forgiveness, God's faithfulness in trials, walking in love, trusting His timing, and overcoming fear. Today we discover where all these truths lead - to serving others.
Galatians 5:13 shows us that freedom has a purpose. We were set free not to do whatever we want, but to serve one another in love. All those truths we explored this week? They overflow into action. When you have God's peace, you serve without anxiety. When you've forgiven, you serve without bitterness. When you trust His timing, you stop rushing past opportunities to help.
I share about serving at a local shelter and how I thought I was blessing them, but they ended up blessing me more. Something supernatural happens when we get our eyes off ourselves. You don't need special gifts or calling - just look around. Someone needs what God gave you this week. Your service might be the sermon they need to hear.

[#0006] Overcoming Fear with Faith
Fear paralyzes, but faith mobilizes. This episode examines 2 Timothy 1:7 and the spirit of power, love, and self-discipline God gives us. Learn how to recognize fear's lies, stand on God's truth, and move forward with courage even when you feel afraid.
Fear is not from God. Period. Second Timothy 1:7 makes it clear - the Spirit God gave us doesn't make us timid. Instead, He gives us power, love, and self-discipline. Today we're talking about how to move forward when fear tries to keep you stuck.
I share about facing paralyzing fear when God called me to step into something new, and the lesson I learned - you don't wait for fear to leave before acting in faith. You act in faith and fear has to leave. Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's moving forward despite it.
We look at Peter walking on water - same circumstances, different focus, different outcome. The enemy uses fear to keep you from your destiny, but greater is He who is in you. When fear knocks, we'll learn how to answer with God's word and truth that defeats fear every time.

[#0005] Trusting God's Timing
Waiting on God’s timing is one of faith’s hardest challenges. This episode explores Ecclesiastes 3:11 and why God’s delays are not denials. Learn how to be faithful in the waiting season and trust that God is making everything beautiful in its time.
Everything beautiful in its time. Not your time. Not when you think it should happen. In its perfect time. Today we’re talking about one of the hardest parts of faith - trusting God’s timing when everything in us wants answers now.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that God sees the full picture while we see one puzzle piece. I share about praying for years about a specific situation and how God’s “delay” was actually His protection - if He’d answered when I wanted, I would have missed something so much better.
We look at biblical examples - Abraham waiting 25 years, Joseph waiting 13 years, David’s years between anointing and throne. In each waiting season, God was working. The waiting isn’t wasted when you’re walking with God. We’ll explore how to be faithful in the waiting and trust that He’s orchestrating things you can’t see yet.

[#0004] Walking in Love
Love isn't just something God does - it's who He is. This episode explores 1 John 4:7-8 and what it means to walk in God's love daily. Discover how genuine love becomes evidence of salvation and learn practical ways to let God's love flow through you to others.
God IS love. Not has love or shows love - IS love. That changes everything about how we understand our call to love others. Today we're exploring First John 4:7-8 and what it means that everyone who loves has been born of God.
I tell the story of my difficult neighbor and how choosing small acts of love (even when I didn't feel like it) completely transformed our relationship. We talk about why love is the evidence of salvation - not perfect church attendance or flawless theology.
Walking in love is practical - it's patience in traffic, forgiveness when you'd rather hold a grudge, serving when you'd rather be served. Love isn't always received well (just ask Jesus), but we don't love based on response. Each act of love displays God to a watching world, and someone needs to experience God's love through you today.

[#0003] God's Faithfulness in Trials
When trials overwhelm us, we need to remember God's unchanging faithfulness. This episode examines 1 Corinthians 10:13 and reveals how God measures every trial, never allowing more than we can bear with His help. Learn to recognize the ways God provides in your difficulties.
Ever felt like you're at your breaking point? Like you can't handle one more thing? First Corinthians 10:13 has a promise for you - God won't let you be tested beyond what you can bear with His help.
We look at how God provides a way through (not always around) every trial. Think Joseph in slavery, Daniel in the lions' den, the three Hebrew boys in the fire - God didn't remove the trial, but He was present in it.
I share about a season when everything hit at once - sick mother, overwhelming work, strained relationships - and how looking back, I can see God's faithfulness in every detail. Your trial hasn't caught God off guard. He already has the way through prepared. We'll explore how to recognize His provision even when you can't see the full picture yet.

[#0002] The Power of Forgiveness
Forgiveness isn't natural, but it's necessary for freedom. This episode explores Ephesians 4:32 and the transformative power of forgiving others as Christ forgave us. Discover why forgiveness is more about your freedom than their deserving, and how the Holy Spirit empowers us to do what seems impossible.
Holding unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick. Today we're looking at Ephesians 4:32 and why forgiving as Christ forgave us changes everything.
I get real about my own struggle with forgiving someone who betrayed my trust, and how focusing on Christ's forgiveness of me finally brought breakthrough. We explore why forgiveness doesn't mean what they did was okay, and why you might need to forgive the same person seventy times seven for the same hurt.
This isn't about letting people walk all over you. It's about freedom - your freedom. We'll talk about how forgiveness becomes an act of worship and why you don't need warm feelings to choose forgiveness. The Holy Spirit will empower you to do what feels impossible.

[#0001] Finding Peace in Uncertainty
When life feels unpredictable and chaotic, where do we find peace? In this episode, we explore Isaiah 26:3 and discover how a steadfast mind anchored in trust experiences God's perfect peace. Learn practical ways to shift from trying to control everything to trusting the One who holds tomorrow.
Today we're diving into Isaiah 26:3 - that beautiful promise about perfect peace for those whose minds are steadfast. You know those moments when everything feels out of control? This episode is for those times.
We talk about what it really means to have a steadfast mind (hint: it's not about being strong enough) and why peace isn't the absence of problems but the presence of trust. I share a personal story about job uncertainty and how God used that season to teach me about His perfect peace.
The big takeaway? You can't control tomorrow, but you can trust the One who holds tomorrow. We'll explore practical ways to turn worried thoughts back to God throughout your day, because this isn't about denial - it's about choosing a higher reality.
