Jesus promised Paul, “You will testify about me in Rome.” Then came two long years of waiting in a Caesarea prison, kept there by a corrupt governor as a political favor. When the new governor, Festus, arrived, Paul’s enemies were still consumed with killing him and plotted another assassination attempt. But God turned the heart of Festus, exposed baseless accusations, and used a broken justice system to open the door for Paul to go to Rome. Just as God took the evil done to Joseph and turned it into the saving of many lives, He rolled the injustices done to Paul into His good plan. If your life feels stuck or unfair, this message will show you that God still keeps His promises, often in ways we would never expect.

The Danger Of Procrastination
Felix had every opportunity. For two years the apostle Paul lived in his palace and explained the gospel to him again and again. Once, as Paul reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, this corrupt and powerful governor actually trembled. The Holy Spirit was knocking. But instead of asking, “What must I do to be saved?” Felix said, “Go away for now. I’ll call for you when it’s convenient.” He kept listening, but he never trembled again, and he never came to Christ. In Acts 24, we see how spiritual procrastination works: each time we push conviction aside, our hearts grow a little harder, until the voice we kept putting off goes silent. Felix thought he had more time. Do you? Listen to this message and discover why the most dangerous word in the spiritual life may be “later.”

The Providence Of God
Does God still work when we can’t see Him? In Acts 23:12–35, more than forty men swore an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul, and the corrupt Sanhedrin agreed to help. Yet God’s name never appears in the passage. Instead, His invisible hand placed Paul’s young nephew in the right place to overhear the plot, moved a Roman tribune to act, and surrounded Paul with 470 soldiers who carried him safely to Caesarea by night. The man who woke up to an assassination plot went to sleep in Herod’s palace. Providence is no less a work of God than the parting of the Red Sea. He is still arranging people and circumstances to care for His children and accomplish His purposes.
