Spoon Space is where hot takes meet heating pads. I’m Sunny Dee—RN, BSN, 20-year spoonie, and your favorite unlicensed therapist (with a license in nursing, don’t get cute). We talk guts, grief, giggles, and glow-ups—all in one breath, if we have one. This space is for the soft, the spicy, the spoon-deprived, and the soul-full. I don’t gatekeep, I guide. I don’t whisper through pain, I sing through it—with a lil’ cuss here and there. If you’ve only got one spoon left, BABY, spend it here.Bring your meds and your mess. You’re safe here—and we’re just getting started.🫶🏾🥄🛸
The Chaos Club | Spoon Space Season 2 Finale Chaotic energy is real and it can drain your spoons before you even realize what’s happening. In this episode, I’m unpacking how chaotic energy shows up, how it transfers, and most importantly, how to protect your peace when someone else’s storm threatens to take you down with it. We’re talking boundaries, rituals, energy checks, and that golden reminder: other people’s urgency is not your emergency. 🛑✨ This finale ties together everything we’v...

In this episode, we’re unpacking the truth: ⚖️ The roots of medical racism (yes, it started centuries ago… and it hasn’t gone away) 👩🏾🍼 The tragic story of Keira Johnson, a Black mother who died after her pleas for help were ignored postpartum 🩹 My own ER experiences of. being stereotyped, dismissed, and denie...

Symptoms Gone Wild!
✨ Episode 6 – Symptoms Gone Wild ✨ Autoimmune diseases don’t play fair. They don’t just stick to one body part — they crash the whole system. (Re)MISSION POSSIBLE
🎙 Long episode alert! This one runs a little longer than usual — but it’s the big finale of my Crohn’s story, so I had to give it the space it deserved. From here on out, most episodes will be short and sweet, around 15 minutes or so — but today… we’re going out with a bang. In Remission Possible, I’m taking you from begging for the bag, to living with a loop ileostomy during a pandemic, to finding unexpected healing in Costa Rica — and finally hearing the words I’d been waiting 20 year...

Recovery: The Real Horror
After diagnosis, things were supposed to get better… right? Instead, I faced failed scopes, rushed surgery, a body I barely recognized, and a system that dismissed my pain. This episode is about what happened after the diagnosis — the pain no one planned for, the wound that wouldn’t heal, and the recovery that felt more like a battleground than a rest stop. But it’s also about how I found my voice — with the help of two parents who never stopped showing up. This is how I became an advocate....

The Nightmare on Spoon Street
Before the colonoscopies, before the surgeries, before the diagnosis — there were warning signs. Pain that didn’t make sense. Symptoms no one could explain. And a little Black kid who knew something was wrong… even when nobody believed her. In this debut episode, Sunny Dee, RN, BSN, and 20-year spoonie, takes us all the way back to the beginning — the childhood joint pain, the gaslighting, the dismissed symptoms, and the moment everything changed. This one’s for every spoonie who’s ever b...
