3 Signs Something Has Become an Idol in Your Life | Christian Living Episode 44

Have you ever considered that something in your life may have become an idol without you even realizing it? Idolatry isn't always obvious. It doesn't have to involve statues, false gods, or something inherently sinful. Relationships, money, entertainment, addictions, and even material possessions can become idols when they begin to occupy a place in our hearts that belongs to God alone. In this episode of the SpreadHisWordTay audio podcast, we examine 3 signs that something may have become an idol in your life: The Fear of Letting It Go The Justification of Keeping It The Time, Decisions, and Priorities You Give It The goal isn't to point fingers at others, but to examine ourselves through the Word of God. What are you afraid to lose? What are you constantly justifying? And what is influencing your decisions and priorities? Something doesn't have to be inherently sinful to become an idol. The question is whether it has begun competing with your devotion and obedience to God. Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 6:21 Matthew 6:33 Genesis 22 Colossians 3:5 James 1:22 2 Corinthians 13:5 1 John 5:21 Take time to examine your heart and allow the Word of God to reveal anything that may have taken His place. If this episode challenges you, share it with someone, leave a review, and subscribe to SpreadHisWordTay. Let's continue growing in truth, examining ourselves, and walking in obedience to God's Word. #Idolatry #ChristianPodcast #ChristianLiving #BiblicalTruth #SpiritualGrowth

Are We Watering Down God’s Word to Make People Comfortable? | Part 1 Episode 43

Are we watering down the Word of God to make people more comfortable with the truth? In this episode, I respond to a conversation from The Breakfast Club podcast featuring a popular pastor who was asked questions about heaven, hell, and whether someone can repent and give their life to Christ in their final moments. While there were things said that I appreciated, I believe we need to be careful not to make God's Word more comfortable simply because the truth may be difficult to hear. In Part 1, I discuss: The thief on the cross: Are we misusing his story to give people false hope that they can live however they want and wait until their final moments to surrender to Christ? Luke 23:40: Why did one thief recognize his need for God while the other remained focused on himself, even in the face of death? Repentance and salvation: Why should we never treat eternity like something we can gamble with? Speaking truth in love: Does loving people mean withholding biblical truth because we think they aren't ready to hear it? Correction and discipline: Why God's Word must be allowed to teach, convict, correct, and guide us, even when we don't like what it reveals. If our hearts truly belong to God, why would we intentionally spend our lives living for ourselves while planning to give Him whatever time we have left? We do not know when our last day will come. Our responsibility is not to gamble with eternity but to respond to God's truth while we have the opportunity. Meeting people where they are does not mean leaving them where they are. We are called to speak the truth in love, not compromise the truth in the name of love. What are your thoughts? Can we truly love people while withholding the truth they need to hear? Join the conversation in the comments. If this message challenges you, follow the podcast, share this episode with someone who needs to hear it, and continue pursuing the truth of God's Word without compromise. Pastor With Two Wives?... & Trump’s Nicki Minaj Comments?! | Christian Discernment Bonus Episode (Live)

How should Christians respond to controversial current events while remaining grounded in the Word of God? In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, Tay Lewis discusses current events, Christian convictions, and the importance of exercising biblical discernment in a culture driven by public opinion, social media reactions, and personalities. The conversation begins with the discussion surrounding Pastor Israel Ford and the controversy involving a pastor having two wives. What does Scripture teach about marriage and leadership within the church? How should the body of Christ respond when controversial situations arise? And why must we examine the actions of spiritual leaders through the Word of God rather than blindly defending individuals because of their position? Tay also addresses President Donald Trump’s comments about Nicki Minaj’s butt and the reactions circulating across social media. How should Christians approach conversations like these? What should our responses reveal about our values, convictions, and commitment to representing Jesus Christ? These discussions challenge us to look beyond headlines, personal opinions, and emotional reactions. As followers of Christ, we are called to test what we hear, seek wisdom through Scripture, and ensure that our beliefs and responses align with the truth of God’s Word. In this episode, we discuss: Pastor Israel Ford and the conversation surrounding marriage and church leadership Biblical standards for marriage and spiritual accountability President Donald Trump’s comments about Nicki Minaj and the reactions on social media The importance of Christian discernment when evaluating current events Responding to controversial situations with biblical convictions Standing firm in truth rather than following popular opinion The goal isn't to follow the crowd. The goal is to know the Word, apply it, and stand firm in truth. Join Tay Lewis for honest conversations about faith, culture, current events, and the Christian walk.
