What happens when you overcome heroin addiction, only to discover an even darker battle waiting? Can Jesus Christ deliver someone from drug addiction, pornography, spiritual darkness, and a life of destructive choices?
In this powerful episode of Stacking Victories, Joe shares his incredible Christian testimony of addiction, recovery, spiritual warfare, and the transforming grace of God.
Growing up in a loving Christian home, Joe never imagined his search for friendship and acceptance would lead him into nearly a decade of drug and alcohol addiction. What began with marijuana and drinking quickly escalated into cocaine, heroin, criminal activity, and a life spiraling out of control.
At 27, physically broken and emotionally empty, Joe entered rehabilitation and began his journey toward sobriety. Through recovery meetings, the 12 steps, sponsorship, and accountability, he overcame heroin and alcohol addiction.
But his battle wasn't over.
After finding sobriety, Joe developed a destructive pornography addiction that consumed years of his life. Searching for deeper meaning and spiritual enlightenment, he eventually became involved in New Age spirituality, meditation, spirit guides, Ouija boards, and occult practices.
What Joe initially believed were encounters with benevolent spiritual beings eventually became terrifying experiences he interpreted as demonic deception and spiritual warfare.
Then everything changed when Joe surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.
Joe shares how his encounter with God's grace led him to renounce occult practices, confront pornography addiction, embrace Christian fellowship, and rebuild his life through faith, prayer, Scripture, and recovery.
Today, Joe is married, actively sharing the gospel, and helping others understand that their past does not have to define their future.
Joe's story reminds us that recovery is more than breaking destructive habits. It's about discovering purpose, building healthy relationships, accepting help, and finding hope beyond addiction.
