[…] OK, I think the time. to learn about your pelvic floor muscles is before a urologist cuts through them. So if I am seeing a patient for, let's say, low testosterone or ED, as part of that workup, I'm typically checking a PSA. And if it's elevated, then I'm going to send them to see a specialist to work up the PSA. So sometimes I see these guys before they're diagnosed with prostate cancer, which is how I prefer it because then I can have this discussion early. But I will recommend they see a pelvic floor physical therapist before they have any treatment on their prostate because it is easier to learn how to control your pelvic floor before we operate on it.
