Tafelwijn 8: Galicië pt. II (rood) feat. Martijn Verkerk
<p>Galicië is misschien wel de meest dynamische wijnregio in Spanje. Wat witte wijn betreft heeft albariño uit Rías Baixas inmiddels een brede bekendheid verworven. De rode wijnen uit Galicië daarentegen zijn vaak nog insiderswijnen. Maar als er één wijn uit Galicië meer aandacht verdient, dan zijn het de mencía gedomineerde field blends van zeer oude stokken op de spectaculaire terrassen in Ribeira Sacra. Ze zijn sappig, krokant, mineraal, verteerbaar vaak schreeuwen ze ‘terroir!’. Ze hebben overeenkomsten met cabernet franc uit de Loire, Beaujolais of Noord-Rhône syrah, behalve dat ze beter geprijsd zijn. Reden temeer om ons door Martijn Verkerk van Smaragd Wines bij te laten praten over het roods dat Galicië te bieden heeft. Luister je mee? <p>Galicië is veel te mooi voor slechts één aflevering. Daarom hebben wij een tweeluik gemaakt waarin Martijn Verkerk van Smaragd Wines ons bijpraat over deze fascinerende – en opkomende! – regio in Noordwest-Spanje. In de eerste aflevering staan we stil bij de witte wijnen. Albarino uit Rías Baixas is inmiddels een begrip in de wijnwereld. Maar Galicië heeft meer te bieden. Tafelwijn 6: Chianti Classico feat. Nils Bugge
<p>Aflevering 6: Chianti! 🇮🇹 Chianti is een echte Italiaanse klassieker, maar in tegenstelling tot bijvoorbeeld Barolo of Barbaresco gaat het hart van mening wijnliefhebber niet automatisch sneller kloppen van Chianti, want chianti heeft een hoog flopgehalte. In onze zoektocht naar topchianti kwamen wij uit bij Nils Bugge, Italiëkenner en wijnimporteur. In deze aflevering praat hij ons bij over het moois wat Chianti kan bieden. Een eye opener voor ons was dat de hedendaagse stijlen in Chianti zijn te herleiden tot twee personen: Giulio Gambelli en Giacomo Tachis. Wie zij waren en wat welke stijlen zij propageerden hoor je in deze aflevering.<br> <br> Uiteraard werd er ook geproefd, ditmaal blind, wat grote verrassingen opleverde. Als beste uit de bus kwamen Castell’in Villa 2016 en Val delle Corti 2017. De iconische Isole e Olena (2017) viel, tegen onze verwachtingen in, wat tegen. Bij. Castello dei Rampolla 2017 merkten we dat Chianti niet per se goed kan ouderen (daarover meer in deze uitzending). Fontodi 2017 was een mooi voorbeeld van de Tachis-school (think Bordeaux). Hoewel de Poggerino (2019) op papier in de Gambelli-hoek zit, deed de wijn ons meer aan de Tachis-school denken.<br> <br> Veel luisterplezier! Liever de videoversie zien?
