Halloween Comes But Once a Year

This episode continues the thrilling adventures of Sam, Raven, and Jim in the post-apocalyptic town of Hope, where recent events have shaken the community to its core. Just a day after a devastating explosion attributed to the Mothman cultists, our protagonists set out to explore the northern reaches of the town in search of their super mutant companion, Chop. Their expedition takes a dangerous turn when they encounter a pack of feral ghouls, testing their resolve and survival skills. The turning point comes as Sam receives a desperate radio message from Dr. Jacob Morrison, the town’s doctor, pleading for supplies and support. His heartfelt plea awakens the team’s sense of urgency, prompting them not only to seek out Chop but also to scavenge for resources that could revive the dwindling hopes of the townspeople. The narrative shifts to October, as Sam finds himself back in a local shop, reminiscing about Jim’s recent departure with the discovery of a note that reveals his friend’s intentions. This poignant moment highlights the emotional struggles they face amidst the chaos. As Sam reflects on the past, he and Raven prepare to bring some festive spirit back to Hope with Halloween decorations, signaling a glimmer of joy in their harsh reality. Their scavenging leads them to colorful merchandise and decorations in the Halloween shop, where they unearth whimsical yet nostalgic items that remind them of brighter days. However, their quest for candy and supplies leads them to encounter dangers that lurk amidst the ruins of Hope. With careful strategy and collaborative tactics, they manage to eliminate the threats they face, including feral ghouls and a malfunctioning Protectron security robot, ensuring their survival in a precarious environment. As they uncover more about the town’s dark history and the strange occurrences within its borders, Sam begins to realize that rebuilding hope in their community involves piecing together not only scattered resources but also the fragmented stories of its inhabitants. They discover key supplies in a Super Duper Mart, with nostalgic items sparking memories of life before the bombs fell. The exploration and scavenging culminate in a visit to the local bank, where Sam bravely confronts a lurking ghoul, successfully dispatching it and looting the vault for precious pre-war currency. With promises of future prosperity and stability, the team reflects on their findings and the importance of community, as new settlers begin to trickle into Hope in search of refuge. With plans for a festive Halloween filled with trick-or-treating and perhaps a carving contest, the team members discuss the direction their newfound resources could take the town. As they strategize the next steps, the mood shifts from somber reflection to hopeful anticipation for the future.Join us in this emotional, action-packed episode as we see how buried hopes can be revived amid chaos, leading our heroes on a path towards restoration and community in the town of Hope. 🔦 Join the Adventure * 🎥 Watch us live every Sunday at 7:30 PM ET on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/overseerkyle) * 📺 Catch up on episodes via our main YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@Tales_From_Tomorrow_Fallout) * 📺 Watch Fallout prop reviews & deep dives on Overseer Kyle’s channel (https://www.youtube.com/@overseerkyle) * 💬 Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/BbSgqaK8Tk?event=1329112342163755079) for behind-the-scenes content and community discussions * 🎙️ Listen to Tales From Tomorrow (https://www.overseerkyle.com/tales-from-tomorrow) – our story-driven Fallout TTRPG podcast * 🎙️ Tune into Vault Broadcast (https://www.overseerkyle.com/vault-broadcast) – our Fallout creator interview series * 💰 Support us on Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/overseerkyle) for behind-the-scenes content & shoutouts * 📱 Follow us on TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@overseer_kyle) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/overseerkyle) 🛒 Use Our Affiliate Codes * 🧢 20% Off Bethesda Gear Shop * Use any of the following codes: VAULT3 * (If one doesn’t work, try the next — they expire regularly) * 👉 gear.bethesda.net (https://gear.bethesda.net/?ref=bb-e11jbw) * 📚 10% Off Fallout TTRPG at Modiphius * Use code: BTALES * 👉 modiphius.net (https://modiphius.net/) * 🛍️ Shop Amazon (Support Us) * 👉 amzn.to/4buk0Er (https://amzn.to/4buk0Er) This is a public episode. Overseer's Log 24 - Ghouls At Dusk, Robots at Dawn

In this episode, I delve into the latest developments from our Fallout tabletop RPG actual play series, “Tales from Tomorrow, Under the Mothman’s Embrace.” As your Overseer, I share some critical updates and reflections from the past couple of weeks, during which we faced a notable pause in streaming. This break stemmed from various life circumstances, including technical tribulations for our player Sky, who recently had to replace his laptop. Alongside that, we took a moment to celebrate birthdays, all while gearing up for an exciting transition to the Forge and Foundry system .In a more serious tone, I address some troubling experiences within our gaming community. Specifically, after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I found myself abruptly removed from the Wild Wastelanders Market alongside others. This change was precipitated by a chilling shift in community dynamics that, in my view, prioritized profit over the safety and well-being of its members. I feel it’s vital to highlight that this community, which should be a sanctuary for allies against racism and bigotry, has shown itself to be complicit in harassment rather than protective. I encourage anyone engaged with that group to reconsider their involvement, as it’s clear that the leadership is more interested in their financial bottom line than in fostering a supportive environment. As we navigate these challenges, I also reflect on my commitment to authenticity and my belief in standing firmly against oppression in all its forms. This episode serves not only as a chronological update but also as a rallying call for integrity and solidarity within our gaming circles. I recognize the importance of being proactive and vocal as allies, rather than merely passive supporters. For those interested, I announce new discount codes available for the Bethesda Gear shop, serving as an opportunity to save while also supporting creators who align with our values. Shifting to the technical aspects of the last episode, I discuss our venture into the Foundry platform, highlighting its advantages over our previous VTT, Alchemy. The transition has been largely positive, allowing for a more fluid gaming experience. I extend my gratitude to community members like Neri who have provided invaluable assistance during this shift. Furthermore, I acknowledge the simultaneous challenges we face, including plumbing issues in my office that have added to the complexity of recent weeks. Despite these obstacles, I am excited about the future, including upcoming Vault Broadcast interviews and a reinvigorated commitment to engaging with Fallout 76 multiple nights a week.I conclude with a candid plea for accountability and reflection from fellow gamers, particularly those who may hold privilege. This moment tests our resolve; we must choose to stand against bigotry of all types and reject complacency. The urgency of this message resonates deeply with me, and I urge you all to engage thoughtfully with these issues. As we forge ahead, let’s maintain our focus on creating a community that values inclusivity, authenticity, and proactive resistance against hate. Until next time, stay vigilant, and let’s navigate this wasteland together. 🔦 Join the Adventure * 🎥 Watch us live every Sunday at 7:30 PM ET on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/overseerkyle) * 📺 Catch up on episodes via our main YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@Tales_From_Tomorrow_Fallout) * 📺 Watch Fallout prop reviews & deep dives on Overseer Kyle’s channel (https://www.youtube.com/@overseerkyle) * 💬 Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/BbSgqaK8Tk?event=1329112342163755079) for behind-the-scenes content and community discussions * 🎙️ Listen to Tales From Tomorrow (https://www.overseerkyle.com/tales-from-tomorrow) – our story-driven Fallout TTRPG podcast * 🎙️ Tune into Vault Broadcast (https://www.overseerkyle.com/vault-broadcast) – our Fallout creator interview series * 💰 Support us on Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/overseerkyle) for behind-the-scenes content & shoutouts * 📱 Follow us on TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@overseer_kyle) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/overseerkyle) 🛒 Use Our Affiliate Codes * 🧢 20% Off Bethesda Gear Shop * Use any of the following codes: VAULT2 * (If one doesn’t work, try the next — they expire regularly) * 👉 gear.bethesda.net (https://gear.bethesda.net/?ref=bb-e11jbw) * 📚 10% Off Fallout TTRPG at Modiphius * Use code: BTALES * 👉 modiphius.net (https://modiphius.net/) * 🛍️ Shop Amazon (Support Us) * 👉 amzn.to/4buk0Er (https://amzn.to/4buk0Er) This is a public episode. S1E24 - Ghouls at Dusk, Robots at Dawn

In this episode of "Tales from Tomorrow, Under the Mothman's Embrace," we gather to launch into another thrilling session of our Fallout TTRPG series. I, Overseer Kyle, facilitate the adventure alongside my amazing cast of friends, including Sky, DK, and Mack Raven. Our gameplay takes place within the rich, chaotic environment of Appalachia, where last week’s escapades ended in a cliffhanger of high stakes involving a trial and a chaotic attack by the Mothman cultists. We kick off the episode with a brief recap of the previous events, reminding everyone of the intense fallout following Jim Wayne's trial and the explosive chaos that erupted in town. As the players rally back together, we set the stage for the next phase of their journey: determining their next steps in either tracking down the legendary Chop or exploring the threat from rogue robots that are reportedly patrolling nearby. Given the circumstances, it’s clear that the stakes have never been higher .Before delving into the gameplay, I take a moment to share some exciting announcements regarding our community, including new campaigns launching soon and the code promotions available for those interested in Bethesda merchandise and the Fallout TTRPG itself. The atmosphere is charged with anticipation as our heroes strategize their next move under the looming threat of danger.Once we dive into the gaming portion, each player introduces their character, ready for action. Sky brings Sam to life, dressed in a Tunnel Snakes jacket, while DK plays his character, Jim. Mack Raven embodies her Mothman cultist character with fierce determination. The collaborative banter among the players enriches the experience, revealing their camaraderie and inventive plans as they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. The session gradually shifts into a more intense phase as they encounter a group of feral ghouls while navigating the desolate streets. With each player's decisions, they engage in a dynamic combat encounter, showcasing their unique abilities and the new mechanics of the Foundry software we now use. I appreciate how easy it is to track initiative and manage health bars, ensuring the focus remains on the storytelling rather than getting bogged down by technical difficulties. As the ghouls attack, the players spring into action, with Sam using his shotgun to swiftly eliminate threats while Jim relies on his trusty pipe wrench. Meanwhile, Raven's character deftly uses her bow to deliver deadly shots from the shadows. Strategy and teamwork come to the forefront as they handle the ghoul menace, demonstrating not just their combat competence but also the growth of their characters through shared experiences. After the dust settles from the ghoul confrontation, the players reflect on their options moving forward in the hunt for Chop, noting a lack of clarity regarding his whereabouts and weighing their next strategic moves against the clock. They decide to form plans to see if they can uncover any leads on the robot patrols, revealing how each decision has the potential to drastically shift the course of their adventure. As I wrap up this episode, the challenges remain ever present, and I’m filled with excitement for the subsequent sessions. This dynamic game is not just about surviving the wasteland; it’s about forging friendships and narratives that will resonate long after the dice are rolled. We invite our listeners to join us on this journey, encouraging them to dive deeper into our community via subscriptions to our content for exclusive insights and behind-the-scenes material.Overall, this episode exemplifies not only the thrill of TTRPGs but also highlights our storytelling at its finest, and I'm eager to see where this journey will take us in the chapters to come. 🔦 Join the Adventure * 🎥 Watch us live every Sunday at 7:30 PM ET on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/overseerkyle) * 📺 Catch up on episodes via our main YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@Tales_From_Tomorrow_Fallout) * 📺 Watch Fallout prop reviews & deep dives on Overseer Kyle’s channel (https://www.youtube.com/@overseerkyle) * 💬 Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/BbSgqaK8Tk?event=1329112342163755079) for behind-the-scenes content and community discussions * 🎙️ Listen to Tales From Tomorrow (https://www.overseerkyle.com/tales-from-tomorrow) – our story-driven Fallout TTRPG podcast * 🎙️ Tune into Vault Broadcast (https://www.overseerkyle.com/vault-broadcast) – our Fallout creator interview series * 💰 Support us on Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/overseerkyle) for behind-the-scenes content & shoutouts * 📱 Follow us on TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@overseer_kyle) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/overseerkyle) 🛒 Use Our Affiliate Codes * 🧢 20% Off Bethesda Gear Shop * Use any of the following codes: VAULT2 * (If one doesn’t work, try the next — they expire regularly) * 👉 gear.bethesda.net (https://gear.bethesda.net/?ref=bb-e11jbw) * 📚 10% Off Fallout TTRPG at Modiphius * Use code: BTALES * 👉 modiphius.net (https://modiphius.net/) * 🛍️ Shop Amazon (Support Us) * 👉 amzn.to/4buk0Er (https://amzn.to/4buk0Er) This is a public episode.
