Episode 8: Margaret Bell

Tales of Transformation with Ann Girling Date broadcast: 16.06.2026 Episode 8: Margaret Bell In this episode Ann’s guest is Margaret Bell, Gut Health and Hormone Health Specialist. Before I spoke to Margaret I was in awe of her depth of knowledge on a topic that affects most of us in some way or another and I was intrigued to know and understand more. So we hear her story about suffering from anorexia and how her mum was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 45. She found herself wanting to learn more and over 30 years of learning has added a range of qualifications to support her work. On top of that she also works as a retreat chef and I know, because she told me, she prepares meals for her clients I then went on to ask her how we would know if we needed her services and we got to talk about anxiety. I knew that there was a connection between the gut and the brain via the vagus nerve but I didn’t know that 90% of information travels from the gut to the brain, rather than the other way round! We also talked about seasonal eating and why it’s important and she recommended her book “Nourish Reset” if we wanted to learn more. It’s available on her website. And we ended with 5 top tips we can implement right now to support our gut health You cannot come away from this podcast without learning something! Margaret Bell is a Hormone & Gut Health Specialist, retreat chef, and author of The Nourish Reset, helping women understand what’s really going on in their bodies so they can finally stop feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, bloated, anxious, and disconnected from themselves. Through a blend of food psychology, gut and hormone health, blood work interpretation, nervous system support, and seasonal nourishment, Margaret is known for giving women their life back, helping them regain energy, confidence, clarity, and calm in a way that feels realistic, warm, and deeply supportive. She has worked as the VIP chef for Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Festival and supports women through retreats, online programmes, cookery experiences, and one-to-one deep dive work. She shares her own story of her experiences of stress but goes on to describe the insidious nature of it in 21st century life. We need to learn to better care for ourselves. It is not a case of having a spa day every so often, more a case of scheduling self care activities into our daily lives. She gives us some tips, sharing the kinds of things she has learnt helps her and are now a part of her routine. The important thing to remember is that we need to care for ourselves so we can better care for others. To connect with me and join my group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/unlikelyguru/?ref=share For “My Transformation Workbook” and my book “Journey to Chocolate” visit https://unlikelyguru.uk And for my free resource “Self Care Strategies that Can Change Your Life” follow this link:- subscribepage.io/selfcare-guide Thank you for listening to Tales of Transformation! Episode 6: Dani Devren

Tales of Transformation with Ann Girling Date broadcast: 19.05.2026 Episode 6: Dani Devren In this episode Ann’s guest is Dani Devren, Soul-Aligned Mentor and Rebellious Cheerleader for Joyful Living. For a start don’t you love Dani’s title. When I read that I was sure we were in for something very special. I would encourage you to listen to her because I was so fascinated listening to everything Dani was saying I didn’t write down much to go in these notes. There were two main themes I picked up; the first was the importance of showing up as our authentic selves whether in real life or on social media. But first you have to develop self awareness so that you get to know who you really are. And the other thing that really resonated with me was listen to what your body is telling you. It rang true for me as I know there are times when I should just walk away from my desk and see to me. I’m sure it applies to us all. Just listen to this thought provoking and highly entertaining episode Dani aka The Soul-Aligned Mentor and Rebellious Cheerleader for Joyful Living.
