Talk Therapy To Me is hosted by counsellors Ashley (she/her) and Maxi (he/they) – two queer minds diving deep into the real stuff. It’s talk therapy, but make it gay.
The Politics of Recovery: What If I Don’t Get “Better”?
Maxi goes solo to question the neat, linear story we’re often told about mental health recovery. What if healing includes setbacks, ongoing support or simply maintaining where you are? This episode explores how we can build meaningful lives without needing to look “recovered.”

Beyond the Label: BPD, Queer Community & Connection
For BPD Awareness Week, Ashley and Maxi are joined by Dene Dubois, founder of BPD Raw, to go beyond the label and explore the lived experience of Borderline Personality Disorder. Together, they unpack stigma and stereotypes, queer identity, relationships, chosen family, belonging, support and recovery — reminding us that a diagnosis is only one part of a person, and there is always a person behind the label.

Revisiting 314- Putting It Into Practice
This week on Talk Therapy To Me, Ashley and Maxi revisit the 314 Movement, but this time with a practical focus: what does 314 actually look like when life feels stressful, overwhelming or simply too much?
The simple 3–1–4 framework invites us to notice three things we’re grateful for, identify one person or support network, and take four intentional breaths. Rather than presenting these as a quick fix, the episode explores how small moments of gratitude, connection and grounding can create a little more space during difficult moments.
Ashley and Maxi also unpack toxic positivity, reaching out without expecting someone to “fix” things, and the importance of chosen family and community within LGBTQIA+ communities. Community voices join the conversation to show how everyone’s version of 314 can look different.
3 things. 1 connection. 4 breaths. It doesn’t have to solve everything, it’s simply one tool you can come back to when you need it
