In The KNICK of Time w/ Michael Houston & Tom Martens (Episode 73)

Welcome to Talking Back to the Teacher Podcast

Season 4 Episode 73 Michael Houston: In the KNICK of Time

This is a stroll down memory lane. Lets go back to 2006school year. That’s 2006-2007. This is my 2nd year teaching. We just had this crazy long summer break since the start of the school year was pushed back by a couple weeks. So I was out before memorial day, and found myself witha 11+ week summer. Over the summer, I was asked if I had any interest in coaching basketball.

Long story short, I took the job, and Michael aka Mikey aka Spotz was a player on that team.

When we first discussed recording a couple years ago, wewanted to have another teacher of his come on. That was Tom Martens aka Mr. Martens. I threw it out there to him as we started recording and he joined! So 3 of us laughed and reminisced.

We discuss the Knicks and how they pulled off their first NBA championship in 50+ years. And then we discuss high school and our humble basketball beginnings as a player and coach. Lessons learned and how we continued to grow from that monumental 2006-2007 school year.

Links for this episode

Talking Back to the Teacher Podcast Instagram Page
https://www.instagram.com/talkingbacktotheteacherpodcast/

Talking Back to the Teacher Podcast on YouTube Music

https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8eHWBhsBlZ_04pnnVSLovhqAdYv97Neb

Supporting this Podcast:

One of the best ways you can support Talking Back to theTeacher Podcast is by rating this podcast!
