To Third Culture Kids out there who want to hear from a fellow TCK, I'm your girl! All about growing up as a TCK, self-awareness, cultures, and mental health. I just wanted to share my story and bring on other TCK friends who share their stories or the joys and struggles growing up in different cultures and learning embrace our roots. Join us on this journey and I hope you can learn and grow right alongside of us!
Sam joins us on the podcast today to share about her book and her own TCK experience being a 3rd generation TCK.
Sam is a third-generation global nomad/ or TCK who has raised four fourth-generation global nomads/or TCKs. Her four children live all over the world in Barcelona, Portland, OR, San Diego, and Sydney, and Sam and her husband now live in Madrid, Spain. This is the 16th country she has lived in. Will it be her last? For four generations, her family has moved around the globe. Traveling and wandering are in her DNA. Will it continue with her children’s children? Who knows! Sam believes that an individual's identity springs more from who you are rather than where you are from. She prefers to ask someone where they grew up rather than where they are from. She describes home as an amalgamation of places, things, and people she loves. Now, she is concentrating on writing her memoir -Wandering Identity; Beneath a Borrowed Sky – and hopes to have it published sometime in 2025. She has given talks about her global nomadic life experience to international schools and expat parents. She supports fellow global families by sharing snippets of her life story in her blog, www.wanderingidentity.com,

Navigating Through the Losses (ft. Chris Moyer)
Fellow TCK and a dad to TCKs, Chris Moyer joins us as he shares how he navigated through the losses of moving between France and the US during his up bringing.
Chris is a TCK (France, Germany, USA), a TCP (Third Culture Parent) and an expat family caregiver. He loves to use his personal experience of growing up abroad, along with his counseling training to help families in transition. He loves sports- he is a passionate fan, where even the way he roots for teams shows traces of his TCK life. He calls himself a Phrench (combination of Philadelphia and France) fan. His greatest current joy is coaching all three of his kids' basketball teams.
