Taste and Seek

About Taste and Seek

Can we truly taste and see God's goodness in our lives, or is it an empty invitation that leaves us longing and wanting more? Does God care about the mundane moments? Is he there in the waiting room? In our conversations, we will be diving into various topics with guests who will help us see God and his activity. We will be covering a wide spectrum of our lives' experiences ranging from parenting, mental health, loss, and our vocations. As a teacher, a mom, a wife, a workshop leader, my passion is to encourage you to seek God throughout your days and then equip those around you.

Ep 57 Cover to Cover: Mercy, Justice, and the Coming King (Hosea, Jonah, Amos, Obadiah, Nahum, and cont in 2 Kings and Chronicles)

Synopsis: As we wrap up June's reading, we explore three themes that emerge from the Minor Prophets, and Israel's kings: the challenge of rejoicing in God's mercy for others, the hope found in God's justice, and the growing anticipation of the promised Messiah. Join us as we reflect on how these passages continue to shape our hearts and point us to Jesus. In this episode you will hear: Jonah holds up a mirror: Why it's often easier to celebrate God's mercy for ourselves than for our enemies—and how God's grace challenges our hearts. God's anger reveals His love: The prophets show that God's judgment is never arbitrary; His wrath is directed at injustice, oppression, and sin, while His patience continually calls people to repentance. The promised King is coming: As Israel's kings continue to fail, the prophets point our eyes to the true Shepherd and Messiah, inviting us to live in hopeful expectation of King Jesus' return. Ep. 56 Cover to Cover Finishing 1 Kings, Psalms, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes and 2 Chronicles 13-22

Synopsis: In this first June reflection, we look back on finishing Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Psalms, 1 Kings, and most of 2 Chronicles. Together, we explore three key themes from the reading: God’s faithfulness to His promises, the lasting impact of leadership, and the courage to receive and speak truth. From God preserving David’s line for the coming of Jesus, to the ripple effects of leaders like Rehoboam and Jeroboam, to the bold example of the prophet Micaiah standing before King Ahab, these passages remind us that God remains faithful even when people fail. In this episode you will hear: 1) God’s promises remain secure as He faithfully preserves David’s lineage and continues His plan to bring Jesus into the world. 2) The leadership of Israel and Judah shows how a leader’s heart can influence families, communities, and even entire nations. 3) Micaiah’s boldness before King Ahab challenges us to speak truth faithfully and respond humbly to God’s conviction. 4) Following Jesus brings freedom, peace, and restoration as we learn the difference between serving God and following our own way. Ep 55 The Salt + Light Project: Changing the Community Through Families Serving Together

Synopsis: In this episode, we explore why serving together as a family is one of the most overlooked ways to shape our children's faith. Between busy schedules, activities, and daily responsibilities, it can be difficult to create margin for serving others. Yet service teaches us to see needs, practice generosity, build family unity, and experience God's work in everyday life. This is why The Salt + Light Project exists. (https://tasteandseek.org/event/the-salt-light-project-2026/)We'll discuss practical ways to cultivate a family culture of service, why it matters for spiritual formation, and how even small acts of kindness can leave a lasting legacy. In this episode you will hear: 1) Service forms the heart. Serving others helps children (and adults) develop compassion, generosity, humility, and awareness of the needs around them. 2) Families grow stronger through shared experiences. Serving together creates meaningful memories and strengthens relationships within the home. 3) Busy schedules can crowd out important opportunities. Good activities are valuable, but families need intentional rhythms that leave room for serving others. 4) Service starts at home. Helping siblings, doing chores, and caring for family members are practical ways children learn to put others first. 5) Following Jesus requires action. Faith is not only about learning God's Word but also living it out by caring for people and responding to needs with love.
