TSTY079: Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos (Rezension mit Gästin Mari)
Wir sind zurück auf Strixhaven – zusammen mit fünf Student*innen von anderen Planes in ihrem ersten Semester auf der Zauberuni. Was den fünfen dort wiederfährt, das hat Seanan McGuire auf über 400 Seiten im Roman "Omens of Chaos" aufgeschrieben und wir haben ihn püntklich zum Erscheinen gelesen. Wir, das sind in dieser Folge neben Geis und Martin auch unsere Gästin Mari, die als Illustratorin und begeisterte Leserin oft in fantastische Welten abtaucht – und Horden von Untoten in Magic befehligt hat. Wir nehmen Euch mit auf den Campus und besprechen, worum’s in dem Buch geht und ob der erneute Versuch von Wizards, den Zauber von Magic zwischen zwei Buchdeckel zu packen, gelungen ist.

TSTY078: Turtle Power
Eine Kindheit in den 90er-Jahren ist fast undenkbar ohne Kontakt mit den Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (oder Hero Turtles, wie sie in Deutschland hießen). Die vier mutierten Schildkröten und ihr Lehrmeister Splinter kämpften und kalauerten sich mit Pizza und Martial Arts durchs Kinderfernsehen und die Kinderzimmer – und landen jetzt dank Universes Beyond auch in unserem Lieblingskartenspiel. Wir haben uns für diese Folge unseren Freund Alex Matzkeit eingeladen, der nicht nur ein formidabler Gegner am Commander-Tisch ist, sondern auch journalistisch die Popkultur durchleuchtet. Mit ihm blicken wir zurück auf unsere Jugend mit den Turtles und machen natürlich auch den Flavour-Check für das aktuelle Set. Cowabunga!
