Why Swedish Entrepreneurs Are Leaving the Country
In this episode Ricardo Gorski breaks down why Swedish millionaires, entrepreneurs and investors are leaving Sweden. Taxes reach as high as 55% for many, while life quality and safety keep decreasing.
Sweden has the 3:12 trap, which leads to many Swedish entrepreneurs restructuring their business outside of Sweden. The corporate rate looks reasonable at first but the real problem comes when pulling the money out of the company.
Sweden lost a lot of wealth before. IKEA, Tetra Pak, Spotify and Klarna all tell the same story. Sweden builds the companies and ends up owning none of them.
Today the door is still open for entrepreneurs to leave, because Sweden has no exit tax, unlike most of its European neighbours.
If you move early it costs just a company formation. But if you move too late, it can cost half of your life's work.
Ricardo also covers where Swedish millionaires could relocate to instead for lower taxes and a better lifestyle.
