Dr. Peter McCullough on Spike Protein, Recovery and the Vaccine Schedule
I first met Dr. Peter McCullough at a Lyme conference, and his talk there stayed with me. He is coming up on 40 years in medical practice as an internist and cardiologist, and he is also a trained epidemiologist. Before the pandemic, his research was in chronic disease. After it, he moved into acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and the complications he sees after infection and vaccination. His central argument is that the spike protein is the common thread. He believes it persists in the body for years, that it drives long COVID, and that the mRNA vaccines load the body with far more of it than the infection does. He walks through the studies he relies on, the heart and clotting problems he sees in his patients, and why he thinks genetics, such as variants in cardiac proteins or clotting factors, may explain why some people are hit much harder than others. Because there is no commercial blood test for the spike protein, he uses the spike antibody test as a proxy, and he explains the thresholds he uses to decide who needs treatment. From there we get into recovery. His published base protocol combines nattokinase, bromelain, and curcumin on an empty stomach, and he describes the patients he has treated with it and why he is careful about bleeding risk around surgery. I shared how closely that lines up with what we do in practice, including testing antibodies and working to bring them down. The last third of the conversation is about vaccines more broadly. Dr. McCullough walks through his book with John Leake on the history of vaccination and the McCullough Foundation's report on autism risk factors, which he says points to childhood vaccines given in combination. He argues for moving away from a fixed schedule toward vaccines given by clinical need, and for respecting parents who choose differently. - - - - - About the Guest: Dr. Peter McCullough is a board-certified internist and cardiologist and a trained epidemiologist, now in his 40th year of medical practice, with more than 1,000 scientific publications. He is chief scientific officer of The Wellness Company, president of the McCullough Foundation, and host of The McCullough Report. Before the pandemic, his research focused on chronic disease. Since 2020, he has concentrated on SARS-CoV-2 infection and the complications he attributes to the infection and the vaccines. His books include Courage to Face COVID-19 and Vaccines: Mythology, Ideology, and Reality, co-written with John Leake. - - - - - Social Handles: Get Dr. McCullough's Ultimate Spike Detox from The Wellness Company: https://www.twc.health/pages/focalpoints?ref=FOCALPOINTS (https://www.twc.health/pages/focalpoints?ref=FOCALPOINTS) Book an appointment with Dr. McCullough: https://petermcculloughmd.com (https://petermcculloughmd.com) - - - - - Total Body Diagnostics Website: https://www.tbdfit.com/ (https://www.tbdfit.com/) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/ (https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics) YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics) Discovery Call: (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/15min)https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall) MUSIC CREDITS Captured in Time - Instrumental version created by feinsmecker Artlist Song License Certificate: Link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lmH5brUUchuftUl6AIfVScjr-yu8cWaR/view?usp=sharing) - - - - - PODCAST Thank you for listening. The Amino Acids Your Brain Needs To Calm Down
I have had patients referred to me for mental health concerns who changed a great deal once we went to work on the gut, so a conversation about what the brain is actually built from was always going to hold my attention. Laurie Hammer works one level up from where I usually start. She focuses on the amino acids the brain uses to make its neurotransmitters, and what happens when the supply runs short. Her process starts with a long intake, from birth to the present, and a set of questionnaires that point her toward one of five categories: serotonin, GABA, endorphins, catecholamines and glucose regulation. Clients receive a kit of nine amino acids in the mail, including tryptophan, GABA, theanine, and tyrosine. In session, they open a capsule under the tongue, wait about five minutes, and tell her what they notice. Some say their thinking feels clearer or their body relaxes. Occasionally someone feels a little woozy or gets a mild headache. When someone does not respond at all, she looks at cortisol, gut health, and hidden infections next. Serotonin is the pattern she sees most in her own clients, followed by GABA and then dopamine. She starts with tryptophan over 5-HTP because the body can route tryptophan where it is needed. None of it replaces the basics. Laurie tells clients they need animal protein, real food, morning light, and sleep, and she asks many of them to cut the nightly wine and ease off caffeine. That lines up with my foundation five, and it is why her aim is for clients to need fewer supplements as they go. Amino acid therapy is Laurie's clinical approach, and results vary from person to person. Nothing here is medical advice. If you take an antidepressant, an ADHD medication, or any other prescription, talk to your own clinician before adding amino acids, and never stop a prescribed medication on your own. - - - - - About the Guest: Laurie Hammer, FNTP, is a functional nutritional therapy practitioner who uses amino acid therapy to help clients with anxiety, low mood, burnout, and brain health, and she hosts the Take Back My Brain Podcast. Her typical client is a woman between 40 and 60 dealing with anxiety, hormone changes, and the feeling that the medical system has not helped her. Laurie came to this work as a patient. She struggled with an eating disorder, anxiety, and depression through her teens and college years, and in 1996 an outpatient clinic in Mill Valley, California found she had celiac disease and brought amino acids into her care. That experience became the foundation of her practice. - - - - - Social Handles: Website: https://lauriehammer.com (https://lauriehammer.com) Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2yYNVnRQtakHbIjTK8nQVJ?si=098488ef160649a2 (https://open.spotify.com/show/2yYNVnRQtakHbIjTK8nQVJ?si=098488ef160649a2) Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/take-back-my-brain/id1684847484 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/take-back-my-brain/id1684847484) - - - - - Total Body Diagnostics Website: https://www.tbdfit.com/ (https://www.tbdfit.com/) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/ (https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics) YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics) Discovery Call: (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/15min)https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall) MUSIC CREDITS Captured in Time - Instrumental version created by feinsmecker Artlist Song License Certificate: Link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lmH5brUUchuftUl6AIfVScjr-yu8cWaR/view?usp=sharing) - - - - - This podcast is produced by DrTalks.com https://drtalks.com/channel-growth/ (https://drtalks.com/channel-growth)

Your Arteries Are A Muscle, Not A Pipe
I have been saying for years that we treat the bark instead of the tail we are standing on. Diamond Fernandes has spent twenty seven years watching cardiology do a version of the same thing, and his correction is a single sentence: arteries are a muscle, not a pipe. Viewing an artery as a filling channel means waiting until it is blocked. Viewing it as living tissue shifts the focus to what damages the lining. Plaque forms like a pimple beneath the surface, making rupture the real danger instead of narrowing. This is why clean calcium scores do not impress him. Calcium reveals hardened material while ignoring dangerous soft plaque underneath, potentially offering a false sense of security. Before accepting a lifelong prescription, he suggests asking three questions: how much longer will it make you live, what is the number needed to treat, and what is the number needed to harm? He explains how relative risk manipulation obscures your actual odds. While acknowledging medications save lives in acute events, he objects to taking them without understanding these tradeoffs. On genetics, Diamond notes predispositions sit in a dark room until your choices turn on the light. This perfectly echoes my own foundation five: eat right, sleep right, move right, talk right, poop right. We also cover gut health, nutrient depleting medications, and why the human stress response is uniquely destructive. Diamond's clinic describes its aim as preventing and reversing heart disease. That is his clinic's framing of its own work, and individual results vary. Nothing here is medical advice, and no one should change or stop a prescribed medication based on a podcast. Talk to your own clinician. - - - - - About the Guest: Diamond Fernandes is a cardiac rehabilitation and exercise physiology specialist and the founder of Heart Fit Clinic, a cardiovascular longevity practice he started in 2007 that has since grown to five clinics across Canada. He is an allied healthcare professional rather than a physician, with 27 years in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation. His path into the field started at home. His father had a first heart attack at 38, bypass surgery at 42, and another heart attack seven years after being told he had new arteries. Diamond is the author of Beating Heart Disease: 5 Powerful Pillars to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease and Death of the Stress Test, and says he sits on the Canadian Cardiovascular Society as a past president on the cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation side. - - - - - Social Handles: Website: https://heartfitclinic.com (https://heartfitclinic.com) Website: https://heartfit.ca (https://heartfit.ca) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfitclinic (https://www.instagram.com/heartfitclinic) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/diamondheartguy (https://www.instagram.com/diamondheartguy) - - - - - Total Body Diagnostics Website: https://www.tbdfit.com/ (https://www.tbdfit.com/) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/ (https://www.instagram.com/tbdfit/) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.facebook.com/TotalBodyDiagnostics) YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics (https://www.youtube.com/@TotalBodyDiagnostics) Discovery Call: (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/15min)https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall (https://calendly.com/alishasumpter/discoverycall) MUSIC CREDITS Captured in Time - Instrumental version created by feinsmecker Artlist Song License Certificate: Link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lmH5brUUchuftUl6AIfVScjr-yu8cWaR/view?usp=sharing) - - - - - PODCAST Thank you for listening.
