[…] And it's based on your highest 35 years of earnings. So if you don't have 35 years, then some of those years are zero. And that will drag it down. The more you put in, the more you will get out. There's no reason to ever try to, you know, jerry-rig the system. It's the more you put in, the more you'll get out. And it does favor lower earners, meaning a higher percentage of what they put in, they get back. Not a higher dollar amount, but a higher percentage. So for low earners, it does pay to be paying into Social Security so that you get a check for the rest of your life. But really, one of the key, key, key decisions is when do you claim? […]
