[…] Being able to demonstrate knowledge by putting together intentional collages, for instance, was a really common practice in my English classroom. I think another small tweak that's not really a larger lift for teachers is to allow students to process in their home language first before trying out a language that might be new for them. So again, my background's in a writing classroom. Having students pre-writing and drafting in their most comfortable language and then having the opportunity to think about how they might start to work towards a different language or adding in some English words can be an incredible bridge for students to start developing new language competencies, especially if that's happening in conjunction with images.
