<p>IT jobs aren't vanishing — they're shifting. This month, overall IT job postings in India dropped about 3% year-on-year, but AI-related hiring grew around 16%. And it's not just Bengaluru anymore — Kolkata, Delhi, and Chennai are all opening up. Even the salary story is clear: roles in the ₹50 lakh+ band grew around 55%, with strong demand for specialized, senior talent.In this episode, I break down what's actually happening in the job market and three things you can do about it:Don't switch away from your domain — layer AI on top of it. A finance person who knows banking AND can direct AI is far more valuable than a generic engineer building the same tool.Build proof, not just certifications. Certifications are fine, but showing something you actually built — publicly — matters more.Specialization now beats years of experience. Companies like TCS and Wipro are restructuring pay around capability. A specialist can move ahead faster than tenure alone allows.I also share the cricket app I built using Claude — with no coding background — in about two hours, and why in-person training (like the Tamil Nadu Government MSME program in Chennai) can be valuable more for the connections than the content itself.Start one thing.
