Podcast Overview

jamieb2000@hotmail.com James Black started DJing back in 1999 after his love of music began to take part in his social life. He has DJ'd across London (Ministry of Sound / Turnmills / 414 / Union @ Vauxhall / Queen of Hoxton / UCL Socials), Berkshire (House of Bamboo Residency / Dirty Beat Radio), Brighton (Tekbeat / Trickstar Radio / Code South FM / Decadance Radio / Concorde2/ The Volks/ Zahara / The Arch / Hideout / Sticky Mikes Frog Bar), Ibiza (Club Kancela) and Kent (Club Class / River Bar Resident/ Cohesion resident / Classic Beats resident) and presents 'Tekbeat' monthly on Brighton based dance station 'Decadance Radio' as well as a periodic Tekbeat podcast; available on Soundcloud, Mixcloud and iTunes. James' musical love stemmed from mid-90's dance music which lead into the Trance explosion of 1999-2003, since then James has played many styles of music to fit the needs of the venue and his own expression - Funky House, Techno, Trance, Hard House, Psy-Trance and even Heavy Metal, but he has found his home within the realms of Techno and Trance. James is a resident DJ for London Techno night 'Dark Matter,' which is a night held at Union in Vauxhall, and can be found popping up at events across the country as well as a regular figure in the livestreaming world. James Black is actively producing music under 'James Black Presents', with releases on Pure Trance, Nashwa, WeAreTrance, Lethal Shots, Create Music, Discover Records, Stick Up Music, Pure Dope Digital, Transportal, D-Day Recordings and D'amor, and has had support from Amber D, Dave Pearce, Lange, Marie Vaunt and Paul Van Dyk to name but a few.

The Vamp 2026 (MASTER)

*TANGENT TIME* - CALLING ALL HOUSE HEADS! James Black Presents reworks the early 90s Italian house classic 'The Vamp' - bringing bigger beats and a rolling bassline. 3.2.1.0. Purely done as a passion project as the original is iconic to me and used to feature a lot during in my sets during my Dark Matter residency. Grab it on my Bandcamp!

DJ James Black LIVE Trance Anthems, Brighton 2026 (Warm Up)

Warm up sets are a journey. Its not about dropping the biggest hits, the 'peaktime' power - its about warming the crowd up, setting the mood, perhaps playing a few cheeky obscure (but relevant) remixes of well known tracks - but you're always building the energy for the headliner. When you're playing warm up; know the role, talk to the promoter, ask what energy they want and let them trust you to build it up. That's what I've done in this set, 2 hours warming up for the legendary Dave Pearce in Brighton, March 2026. Enjoy the set, lets go for a journey. TRACKLIST ------------------------------- 1. B Traits - North Shore 2. Brian McCalla & Katie Miles - Hidden Lies 3. Cubicore - Focus 4. Orbital - Belfast (Yotto Remix) 5. Pink Floyd - Another Brick (remix) 6. Michael Cassette - Crocketts Theme 7. Chicane - Offshore (Kryder Remix) 8. Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Spacemotion Remix) 9. CRW - I feel love 10. QT Quartet - Hold That Sucker Down (Stonebridge remix) 11. Florence and the machine - You got the love (Mark Knight Remix) 12. Da Hool - meet her at the love parade 13. Genix - Amnesia 14. Underworld - Born Slippy (remix) 15. G.O - Tears of a kingdom 16. James Black Presents - Brighton Sunset 17. James Black Presents, Brian McCalla & Sinead McCarthy - Eclipse of the sun 18. Bart Classen - Elf 19. Bedrock - Heaven Scent (Greg Downey remix) 20. James Black Presents - The Nebula 21. Lange - Blade Runners 22. Lange - Wired to be inspired (James Black Presents Remix) 23.
