Hij schreef het eens op na een bezoekje aan de braderie en inmiddels is het de bouwsteen van hun nieuwste single. In deze aflevering ontleedt hij samen met Martine de tekst van het liedje en raken ze verzeilt in een gesprek over je mening wel of niet mogen geven, achter de kudde aanlopen, lompheid in het dialect, relativering van het bestaan én groepjes mannen.

‘Nog een keer voelen hoe je ogen bij me zijn. Dat je net als vroeger naar me kijkt’, zingt Irene Hin in haar liedje ‘Blijf Nog Even’. De songtekst is een poging om haar vader met Alzheimer dichtbij te houden op de momenten dat hij helder is. Van hem heeft ze haar muzikaliteit gekregen en nu hij overleden is voelt het raar dat hij dit liedje nooit zal horen, legt ze uit in gesprek met Martine. Via de lyrics bespreken ze de ziekte en hoe het was en is om dit als dochter mee te maken.

#28 - ABEL / JORIS RASENBERG: ‘We zijn het midden kwijt’ (S07)
Het liedje ‘Onderweg’ van Abel behoort tot cultureel erfgoed. Zou dat ook gebeuren met het nieuwste liedje van de band? Joris Rasenberg van Abel is naast muzikant ook docent. Die twee dingen hebben aardig wat overlap. In zijn werk op school praat hij met leerlingen over de toekomst, over omgaan met allerlei nieuwe mogelijkheden zoals AI en in zijn muziek zingt hij hardop de vraag of we nog wel naar elkaar omzien. Aan de hand van de songtekst van het nieuwe ‘Zie Jij het Ook’ praat Martine met Joris over wat hij ziet in de maatschappij en hoe hij dat met zijn leerlingen en fans deelt.
