10: Haneefa on childhood sexual abuse
<div> <p>In this episode, Suzi speaks to Haneefa. When Haneefa was five years old, her cousin began to sexually abuse her. The abuse went on until she was ten years old and her life has been dominated by the trauma. With the support of her therapist, Haneefa reported everything to the police nine months ago. Nothing has happened.</p><p>If you are concerned about any of the issues that are discussed in this podcast, you can get anonymous support on the Tellmi app.</p><p>If you, or someone you know, is being abused you can contact the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000 between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. You have the option to remain anonymous. 9: Sam on living in care.
<div>In this episode, Suzi speaks to Sam. Sam is 16 and has been using Tellmi for two years. After he was born, Sam's mum developed post-natal depression, so he was raised by his grandparents from the age of 5. Sam has multiple mental and physical health issues and he is now living in a residential care home. Sam has recently gone back into education to get some GCSE's because he would like to be a nurse.<br> <br> <strong>This episode was produced by Thomas Bullen. <br> </strong>Thomas is one of our previous podcast guests and he is now a media production student at Coventry University.
