** Last episode, somebody said we hate men. We heard you. We reflected. We grew. And then we recorded this episode.
This week, Goodie and Shantel get into Remy Ma’s Why I Get Married, revisit the iconic A Great Day in Hip-Hop, and unpack Jay-Z’s most vulnerable moments in Jay-Z in 8. From marriage and father wounds to accountability, character, and the difference between a nice guy and a genuinely good man, the conversation goes exactly where you think it does. There’s also an unsolicited intervention for people wasting precious resources making AI nostalgia videos, and an after-the-credits Colin Kaepernick rant nobody planned.
For the record, we do not hate men. Not all men… but there were 7–57 of ’em.

The Culture….. Who The F@*k Is We?
This week on Termagant Talk, Goodie and Shantel are asking a question that keeps getting louder every time somebody invokes “the culture”: who the fuck is we? From the way Blackness, hip-hop and collective loyalty get used to defend individual opinions, they unpack who actually gets to speak for everybody. Then they get into Kim Osorio’s federal case and the dangers of doing entirely too much for OPP: Other People’s Person, break down the first two episodes of Jay-Z in 8 and whether Rick Rubin is digging deep enough, and take a hard look at Colin Kaepernick’s ongoing issues with Jay-Z, the NFL, Target and the stories we tell about betrayal. Plus, Goodie recaps her Power Your Pivot panel and Sistas in Sales experience. Funny, argumentative, reflective and very New York, this episode asks whether “the culture” is really a shared set of values or just a convenient place to hide an individual opinion.

Nigga What.....NIGGA WHO?
Who gets to say it? Who gets to decide? And does being part of the culture make you part of the community? This week on Termagant Talk, Fat Joe’s response to Marc Lamont Hill sends Goodie and Shantel down a very New York rabbit hole about race, culture, proximity, identity and the most complicated word in the English language. Somewhere between “my nigga,” “that nigga,” “a nigga” and “nigga, please,” we realize we don’t even completely agree on what the word means, never mind who gets to use it. Plus, we get into Vic Mensa and male vulnerability, Nas and pretty privilege, new music, and the usual foolishness. Nigga What... NIGGA WHO?
