I want to be a ballet dancer."</strong></p><p> en wij wilden vooral weten of deze Britse klassieker de tand des tijds een beetje heeft doorstaan.</p><p><strong>Stel je voor…</strong> Het ruige Noord-Engeland van de jaren '80. Terwijl de mijnwerkers (inclusief zijn vader en broer) staken voor hun toekomst, ontdekt de 11-jarige Billy dat zijn hart niet ligt bij de bokshandschoenen, maar bij de balletschoenen. Wat volgt is een heftige, dubbele coming-of-age waarin een hele gemeenschap moet leren wat echte kracht is.</p><p><strong>In deze aflevering:</strong>We spoelen terug naar Billy Elliot (2000). Een film die ons in de studio bracht tot een prachtig, lang gesprek over inclusiviteit. Sander leek zelfs heel even écht ontroerd... </p><p>We fileren het rauwe, overduidelijke low-budget smoelwerk van de film en vragen ons hardop af of we de Britse humor ergens onderweg zijn kwijtgeraakt, want de echte lach bleef bij ons helaas uit. 145 - Scary Movie (2000) - 'No mercy. No shame. No sequel....alsjeblieft!'
<p>Deze week spoelen we terug naar Scary Movie (2000)! </p><p><strong>Stel je voor…</strong> Een groepje highschool-vrienden wordt gestalkt door een gemaskerde moordenaar. Het plot klinkt bekend, maar de uitwerking is een grote, hysterische aaneenschakeling van grappen en grollen die de popcultuur van millennials genadeloos op de hak neemt. </p><p><strong>In deze aflevering:</strong>Hoe bespreek je in vredesnaam een film die puur bestaat uit persiflage? Martin vraagt zich tijdens de opnames ineens af of ons vaste systeem met de rewinds (Verhaal, Smoelwerk, Inclusiviteit en Thematiek) nog wel eerlijk overeind blijft als er eigenlijk geen lopend, logisch verhaal in zit. </p><p><br></p><p>We wegen de typisch Amerikaanse humor af: leunt het meer tegen de flauwekul van The Naked Gun of de verfijndere absurditeit van Airplane!? </p><p>Toch ontdekken we verrassend genoeg meer gelaagdheid en lading dan je aanvankelijk zou denken. En hoe zit het met de inclusiviteit anno nu? Is het pijnlijk gedateerd, of stiekem nooit écht kwetsend? <p> <strong>"If we are alone in the Universe, it just seems like an awful waste of space."</strong> Tijd om de satellietschotels te richten naar 1997 voor de sci-fi klassieker Contact.</p><p><strong>Stel je voor:</strong> Je luistert al jaren naar de kosmos en plotseling ontvang je een signaal met priemgetallen vanaf een ster. Wat volgt is een wereldwijde crisis, want het signaal bevat de bouwtekening voor een mysterieuze machine. Is het een transportmiddel of een valstrik?</p><p><strong>In deze aflevering:</strong>we kijken met regisseur Robert Zemeckis mee naar de sterren. Kakt het trage tempo van deze film halverwege te ver in voor onze huidige tijd? Is de strijd tussen wetenschap (Jodie Foster) en religie (Matthew McConaughey) nu relevanter dan ooit, of vooral een onbegrijpelijk liefdesduo zonder chemie?</p><p>We bespreken het ietswat gedateerde smoelwerk, de patriarchale inclusiviteit en waarom die 18 uur aan pure ruis de film de definitieve cultwaarde geeft.
