Juvie Thangg Holds NOTHING Back: Getting Shot, Studio Drama, Relationships & Shreveport Rap

In this raw and wide-ranging episode of *That Ain’t My Business, But Let’s Talk About It**, hosts **Nesto Tha Don, PTB Uglyman, and Chance Bandz* sit down with 21-year-old Shreveport rapper *Juvie Thangg* for an unfiltered conversation about music, life, survival, and chasing success in the city. Juvie Thangg opens up about what inspired her to start rapping, from local influences and soul music to experiencing the loss of her adopted mother at a young age. She explains how that loss motivated her to begin recording and sharing her music, while developing a sound that she describes as ratchet, unapologetic, energetic, and true to her personality. The conversation also explores the challenges facing female artists in Shreveport, why local talent can struggle to receive support at home, the importance of collaborations, and what Juvie believes it will take for an artist from the city to reach the next level. Juvie also shares some of the most difficult moments of her life, including surviving a violent incident while protecting family, recovering from serious injuries, later being involved in a major car accident, and dealing with complicated family relationships. She discusses the physical and emotional recovery process and how those experiences changed her outlook on life. The episode gets into the realities of the music industry as well, including uncomfortable experiences in recording environments, recognizing inappropriate behavior, finding people you can trust, and the difficulty of building a dependable team as a young female artist. The crew also debates relationships, loyalty, social media, local clout, Shreveport politics, who the city chooses to support, other local artists, and Juvie Thangg’s perspective on her section of the city versus the rest of Shreveport. Expect humor, disagreements, wild moments, music talk, and serious conversations about family, survival, ambition, and trying to turn difficult experiences into something bigger. *Follow Juvie Thangg:* TikTok: @MissJuvie Instagram: @Miss.Juvie Facebook: Twink 🎙️ *That Ain’t My Business, But Let’s Talk About It Podcast*

50 Cent vs. Shreveport: The Red River Fallout

That Ain’t My Business goes live with Nesto (Ness Dota Dunn), James Baines, PTB Ugly and the crew to unpack the citywide drama shaking up Shreveport and New Orleans. In this episode the hosts react to 50 Cent’s explosive post about pulling back from the Red River project, Hurricane Chris’s social-media response, and the flood of local opinion that followed. We feature a long-form breakdown from community activist Craig Lee to trace the Red River Entertainment District’s history: the HUD-108 loan controversy, John Elkington’s $25M buildout in the 1990s, stalled projects, structural and drainage problems at properties 50 Cent bought, and the contested Millennium Studio and Travis & Spring site issues (including buried gas tanks and costly remediation). Local entrepreneurs and investors—Anthony Montgomery, Cassandra Montgomery, Orville Hall, Phillip Price, Gerard Durden and Red River business owner Mike Banks—are referenced as stakeholders in the push to revive downtown and what’s getting in the way. The hosts debate who’s at fault—city leadership, corrupt contracting and nepotism, or unrealistic expectations—and whether 50 Cent should cut his losses, weather the problems, or let a hometown figure like Hurricane Chris take the reins. You’ll hear the rumors, the receipts, and the on-the-ground reporting about roof damage, reimbursement vs. grant dynamics, and how economic-development politics have stalled the riverfront revival for decades. Later the show shifts to New Orleans drama: Rob49’s exchange with Juvenile and the backlash from local artists who say Juvenile never did enough to uplift his scene. The conversation covers Juvenile’s controversial advice (learn trades and diversify income), Rob49’s critique, how artists actually build revenue streams today, and whether elder stars owe direct promotion to younger talent. We also cut in to clips about local law enforcement and traffic-stop encounters (the State Bones excerpts) that sparked discussion about policing, community safety, and how all of these issues intersect with downtown redevelopment and cultural investment. Expect loud opinions, fixture-by-fixture context on the Red River saga, perspectives from community leaders, and a no-holds-barred conversation about accountability, local pride, and what it will take to actually make downtown work for residents and artists. Tap in if you want the history, the receipts, and the takeaways from people who live where this is happening.
