Horror Film Creator Interview feat. Devon Jovi Johnson S2 Ep.051
Think you need an expensive camera, a Hollywood budget, and a professional film crew to make something terrifying? Think again!
In this episode of That’s Effin Weird, we sit down with Jovi, a horror and thriller filmmaker who proves that creativity, passion, and a cell phone can be all you need to bring your darkest ideas to life.
Jovi shares his journey into filmmaking and his passion for creating scary videos with limited resources. We'll explore how he turns simple locations, everyday equipment, and creative storytelling into creepy, suspenseful experiences that get under your skin. When you don't have a big budget or a professional production team, you have to think outside the box, improvise, and find unique ways to make an audience feel fear.
We'll talk about the challenges of filming horror on a cell phone, the tricks behind building suspense, and how independent creators can bring their visions to life without breaking the bank. What inspires someone to create things designed to scare us? How do you make a scene frightening when you don't have expensive effects? And can a simple phone camera capture something just as unsettling as a major Hollywood production?
Join us as we get inside the mind of an independent horror creator, discuss the art of making scary videos on a shoestring budget, and discover why sometimes the most terrifying stories come from the people who have the fewest resources.

Haunted Highways S2 Ep.050
In this episode of That’s Effin Weird, we're hitting the road and exploring some of the world's strangest haunted-highway legends. From Britain's A75, where drivers have reported bizarre apparitions and phantom vehicles, to Blue Bell Hill, famous for its stories of a mysterious female hitchhiker, the UK has no shortage of roads with disturbing reputations.
Then we're crossing the Atlantic to Canada, where stories of ghost roads, phantom hitchhikers, unexplained lights, and tragic encounters have become part of local folklore. Some Canadian legends are tied to documented historical tragedies, while others have been passed down for generations with details that become stranger the deeper you dig.
And here in the United States, we'll investigate roads with reputations ranging from ghostly figures and mysterious lights to legends involving tragic deaths and unexplained encounters. Clinton Road in New Jersey, for example, has become one of America's best-known paranormal roads, surrounded by decades of stories involving ghosts, strange lights, UFO reports, and other unexplained activity.

Clownpocalypse 2016 S2 Ep.049
In this episode of That’s Effin Weird, we're going back to the infamous 2016 creepy clown craze and asking how it all started. One of the earliest widely reported incidents came from Green Bay, Wisconsin, where a mysterious clown known as "Gags" was photographed under a bridge—only for that particular appearance to later be revealed as a horror-film marketing stunt.
From there, things got weird FAST. Reports spread throughout the United States, with some involving alleged attempts to frighten or lure children, while other reports turned out to be hoaxes, pranks, or unverified sightings. Police departments began receiving calls, schools issued warnings, arrests were made, and social-media rumors sometimes caused people to go searching for clowns themselves.
Then the phenomenon crossed the border into Canada and eventually jumped across the Atlantic into the United Kingdom. British police reported incidents involving people dressed as clowns frightening children, while some reports involved weapons or physical confrontations. Authorities also warned that dressing as a clown to intimidate people could result in criminal charges.
