A Bedtime Meditation for Kids | 15-Minute Body Scan to Relax & Sleep

A gentle 15-minute bedtime meditation for kids, created from the meditation I do with my own girls every night. JUMP PAST INTRO: 1:09 My kids actually asked me to record this one, so I thought I'd share it here in case it helps another family too. This is a simple body scan designed to help children slow down, relax their bodies, release the worries and energy from the day, and settle into sleep. It starts with a few calming breaths and then gently moves from the top of the head all the way down to the toes. At the end, we imagine giving our worries and tired energy to Mother Earth, who transforms them into something beautiful for tomorrow. You can simply play this at bedtime, or use the transcript to read it yourself. I truly believe there is something especially comforting about hearing a parent's voice at bedtime. 📖 WANT TO READ IT YOURSELF? I've included the full transcript in a Google Doc so you can read it directly to your child or record your own version. Meditation Script (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qs6nZqd9xwd1N6DT4ogaC6JT_PmR3crTJJnEENIY1S0/edit?usp=sharing) If this helps your family, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. Sweet dreams. ❤️ ABOUT THAT SPIRITUAL GIRL NEXT DOOR Down-to-earth conversations that are out of this world. Practices That Quietly Change Your Life | Motherhood, Music, Prayer & Finding Your Voice | Ep. 31

DON'T LISTEN FOR THE ANSWERS. LISTEN FOR THE PRACTICES. What kinds of practices shape us into the kind of people who can recognize when it's time to change? In this episode, I'm joined by holistic coach, singer-songwriter, and soon-to-be author Gina Marie Slager to explore a lifelong spiritual journey that took an unexpected turn. For more than twenty-seven years, Gina immersed herself in yoga, meditation, chanting, world religions, motherhood, music, and holistic healing. But instead of asking where her journey ultimately led, I found myself asking a different question: How did she become the kind of person who could recognize something profound when it happened? Together we explore the practices that quietly shape us over a lifetime—and how those ordinary practices may prepare us to hear our own inner voice when life asks us to change. Whether you're deeply religious, spiritually curious, deconstructing your faith, or simply trying to make sense of your own path, this conversation isn't about telling you what to believe. It's about learning to listen. IN THIS EPISODE • Why people become spiritual seekers • Motherhood as a practice of presence • Finding your voice through music and chanting • Walking as meditation • Why Gina explored yoga, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Kabbalah • Gina's unexpected return to Christ consciousness • Discernment vs. persuasion • The freedom of surrender • Why community matters more than ever • The courage to take the leap—even when you're scared ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 — Why We Become Seekers 01:40 — Don't Listen for the Answers. Your Body Is Listening to the Thoughts You Think | Ep. 30

Your Body Is Listening to the Thoughts You Think What if your body isn't working against you... but communicating with you? In this episode, I'm joined by hypnotherapist Peter McLaughlin to explore the fascinating connection between the subconscious mind, trauma, physical pain, hypnosis, past life regression, and healing. Peter's journey into this work began after being diagnosed with leukemia and later navigating Lyme disease. Those experiences led him beyond conventional medicine and into more than a decade of studying hypnosis, subconscious healing, regression work, and helping others uncover the deeper roots behind emotional and physical patterns. Together, we explore questions like: ✨ Is physical pain ever trying to tell us something? ✨ What is hypnosis... really? ✨ Can unresolved emotions show up in the body? ✨ Are past lives literal, symbolic, or something else entirely? ✨ How much power does our imagination actually have? ✨ Can changing subconscious patterns change our lives? Whether you're skeptical, spiritually curious, or somewhere in between, this conversation isn't about telling you what to believe—it's about asking better questions. In This Episode • Peter's healing journey through leukemia and Lyme disease • Taking ownership of your own healing • The emotional roots of physical pain • What hypnosis actually is (and what it isn't) • Havening and subconscious reprocessing • Why your imagination may be more powerful than you've been taught • Past life regression and remarkable client stories • Hypnosis vs. psychedelics • Practical ways to begin exploring your subconscious ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱️ Chapters 00:22 — Meet Peter McLaughlin 01:35 — A Leukemia Diagnosis Changed Everything 05:20 — Why You Have to Own Your Healing 09:25 — What Actually Happens in a Hypnosis Session 17:04 — Using a Pendulum to Talk to the Subconscious 20:43 — Why We've Been Taught to Distrust Our Imagination 28:49 — Havening: A Faster Way to Reprocess Trauma 30:46 — What Is Hypnosis, Really? 41:13 — A Live Havening Demonstration 48:34 — Holding Space for Someone's Deepest Wounds 56:12 — Peter's Own Past-Life Experience 1:01:20 — Are Past Lives Real—or Powerful Metaphors? 1:03:36 — Hypnosis vs. Psychedelics 1:05:46 — Final Thoughts ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Connect with Peter 🌐 BlueSky Hypnosis https://www.blueskyhypnosis.com/ (https://www.blueskyhypnosis.com/) 🌐 Peter McLaughlin https://www.petermclaughlin.com/ (https://www.petermclaughlin.com/) ▶️ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BlueSkyHypnosis (https://www.youtube.com/@BlueSkyHypnosis) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Connect with Kelly 🎙️ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/that-spiritual-girl-next-door/id1765387735 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/that-spiritual-girl-next-door/id1765387735) 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatspiritualgirlnextdoor (https://www.instagram.com/thatspiritualgirlnextdoor) ▶️ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thatspiritualgirlnextdoor (https://www.youtube.com/@thatspiritualgirlnextdoor)
