Podcast Overview

Welcome to That’s Not What That Means—a podcast where miscommunication meets marriage, faith, and everything in between. Hosted by Aaron and Olyvia, married over 20 years, each episode features funny stories, honest conversations, and awkward moments as they explore misunderstandings in relationships, the Bible, and life. Inspired by Aaron’s knack for using the wrong words and song lyrics (and Olyvia’s refusal to let it go), they’re not experts—just two people who love Jesus, love each other, and are figuring it out one talk at a time. Bag of Pills

Nobody hands you a manual for taking care of yourself as an adult. And honestly, based on how we've been doing it, that tracks. In this episode, Aaron and Olyvia get real about their very different, very complicated relationships with doctors, medicine, and everything in between.

Olyvia will schedule every appointment but has a prescription that's been waiting at the pharmacy longer than she'd like to admit (though she did used to carry around a bag of pills for every possible situation just in case). Aaron would rather ask questions than take something he doesn't fully trust. Mostly because he's not entirely convinced "the man" isn't making us sick on purpose.

They're not anti-medicine. They're not anti-doctor. But they do believe in knowing what you're putting in your body, listening to what your body is telling you, and asking the questions nobody seems to want you to ask.

PSO President

What started as just wanting to be involved somehow turned into running the whole operation. In this episode, Aaron and Olyvia get honest about what it really means to be an involved parent. The volunteering, the carpools, the group texts, the concession stands, and the moment you realize you've accidentally become essential.

Olyvia went from volunteer mom to basically vice principal. Aaron walked in late and somehow walked out nominated for PSO President. There were nachos. There were snacks. There was a soccer game that got a little out of hand.

If your calendar looks like a corporate executive's but nobody is paying you, this one's for you. Because somewhere between the parking lot pickups and the late night drives home, this is actually where the good stuff happens.

New episodes every week. Follow, subscribe, and share with the parent who just got added to another group text they didn't ask for.

You Won

In this episode, we dive into our story. From our awkward first encounters to the first time we said “I love you"... sort of. We talk about friendship before romance, the time Olyvia ghosted Aaron when things got weird, and how he somehow remembers everything wrong.

Plus, we celebrate the little wins in our family life, like Aaron taking the girls on their own daddy-daughter dates. Get ready for laughs, honesty, and a few “Wait… that’s not how it happened!” moments.
