The 20 Effect is a podcast for anyone who’s feeling a little lost or overwhelmed in their 20s. Hosted by someone navigating the same messy, unpredictable chapter of life, it’s a space where identity crises, career shifts, and spiritual questions are tackled head-on. As I approach my own quarter-life mark, I’m here to offer advice, share stories, and walk through the tough stuff with you. Whether you’re wrestling with who you are, what you want, or how to trust God in the process, let’s navigate these years together—no judgment, just real conversations and a lot of grace!
In this episode, I’m joined by Amanda Silvas, a dear friend who had a profound impact on my life in my early 20s and post-grad transition. Now in graduate school for counseling, Amanda has worked closely with clients and developed a research project focused on self-esteem in women in their 20s. We unpack self-esteem during this pivotal season of life and explore why so many of us struggle with the way we see ourselves. We explore how your sense of worth evolves over time and why it’s so easy to tie that worth to external validation. Amanda highlights the power of positive self-talk, and how shifting your inner dialogue can move you from self-doubt to greater confidence, resilience, and a more grounded sense of self-worth. In a world that constantly tells us who we should be, building self-esteem from within can change everything.

One Year Wiser
In this episode, I’m celebrating a big milestone...one year of The 20 Effect Podcast! This past year has been full of growth, change, and self-reflection. Like many people in their 20s, I’ve experienced what I like to call a 'Quarter-Life Crisis': questioning my path, navigating uncertainty, and learning how to show up and improve just 1% each day. I reflect on the mountaintops and valleys of the past year, the seasons of change that forced me to take a hard look in the mirror, and the moments when I had to let go of what no longer served me. I also explore how facing failure can build real confidence, and how releasing unrealistic expectations allows you to grieve the life you once imagined for yourself. Ultimately, this episode is about giving yourself grace, trusting the process, and remembering that building a life takes time, and chances are, you’re doing better than you think.

Don't Worry About Tomorrow
In this episode, I’m joined by Brian and Cheri Beltramo, two incredible mentors that greatly impacted my life when I lived in Arizona. The Beltramos share their experience of working in Young Adult Ministry and helping guide 20 somethings through their most pivotal years. We explore why as humans, we get so caught up in the worry trap. In today’s fast-paced world, it's easy to become overwhelmed with worries about relationships, finances, jobs status, or our future. When we turn worry into worship this perspective shift can help alleviate the burden of worry and replace it with hope and faith.

Your Past Does Not Define You
Welcome back to another episode of The 20 Effect! In this episode, I’m joined by Grace Pekovich, a friend whose story is a true testament to God’s perfect timing. Grace and I first met at a party in college. With our lives never crossing again after that, we never would’ve imagined that five years later, we’d be reunited in the same Bible study! Completely unexpected, but it’s clear God was at work. We dive into what it’s like to carry shame from the past, how the enemy tries to use that against us, and what it means to truly experience forgiveness through Jesus. Grace shares her story of coming to faith in college, and we reflect on how following Jesus has reshaped our lives. No matter where you've been or what you've done, Jesus meets you with forgiveness, mercy, and grace. This conversation is full of truth, redemption, and the beauty of a God who never gives up on us.

The Wait Is Worth It
Welcome to the very first episode of The 20 Effect! I’m so excited to finally bring this podcast to life, and I couldn’t think of a better way to start than with my friend BK Obi, who actually helped inspire me to start this journey. BK and I met through mutual friends at GCU, and after some time apart, we’re reconnecting to catch up on life, faith, and the lessons we’ve learned in seasons of waiting. BK shares his journey of life after college volleyball, applying to law schools, job changes, and leaning on God to guide his next steps. We discuss the fear of failure, tension between humility and pride, and why waiting isn’t wasted time. We explore God’s truth, the importance of patience, and how to make the most of every season, even when the way forward feels uncertain. Join us for an honest, faith-filled conversation about trusting the process, embracing growth, and allowing God to guide your steps.
