Soul Ties - Understanding Healthy and Unhealthy Connections (Part 2)

In Part 1 of this series, we explored what soul ties are and the difference between healthy, life-giving connections and unhealthy attachments. In Part 2, we're taking the next step: How do we recognize unhealthy soul ties in our own lives, and how do we walk in freedom?

Unhealthy soul ties can affect our thoughts, emotions, identity, and even our ability to move forward from past relationships. Sometimes they involve relationships that ended years ago. Other times, the person may still be part of our lives, but the relationship has developed unhealthy patterns of dependency, control, or emotional attachment.

In this episode, we'll talk about inviting the Holy Spirit to reveal these unhealthy connections and allowing Jesus to bring healing to the places in our hearts that have remained tethered to the other person.

In this episode, you'll learn:

How to recognize signs of an unhealthy soul tie

Questions you can ask the Holy Spirit about your relationships

Why repentance is an important part of breaking unhealthy attachments

The role forgiveness plays in releasing the past

Why breaking an unhealthy attachment doesn't always mean ending the relationship

How to surrender unhealthy connections to Jesus and invite Him to restore your heart

Why healthy, holy relationships should be protected, blessed, and strengthened

The goal in this teaching isn't to make us question or become suspicious of deep connections. God created us for relationship. Healthy, holy relationships are gifts from Him, and we want to pray over those relationships, protect them, and ask God to strengthen them.

But when a relationship or attachment keeps us bound to the past, affects our identity, or occupies a place in our hearts that belongs to God, we can bring it to Jesus and trust Him to lead us into freedom.

You don't have to remain tethered to relationships God is calling you to release or heal. Jesus cares about every part of your heart, and He desires for you to walk in freedom.

Inner Healing Support

If this episode stirred something in your heart and you feel the Holy Spirit inviting you into a deeper place of healing, you don't have to walk that journey alone. While Jesus is our Healer, He often uses trusted people to help us uncover the hidden roots that keep us bound and to walk with us toward freedom.

Jessica is a Certified Inner Healing and Deliverance Minister with Michelle Passey Ministries and would be honored to walk alongside you as you pursue healing and freedom. Healing the Roots of Bitterness: Expectancies (Part 2)

Have you ever found yourself expecting people to reject you, betray you, or leave you -- even before they've given you a reason to?

Those expectations may be more than just negative thinking. They may be bitter root expectancies.

In this episode, we continue our conversation on bitter roots by exploring how unresolved pain can shape the beliefs we carry about our future. These hidden expectancies often develop as a way for our hearts to protect us from experiencing the same hurt again, but instead of protecting us, they can keep us trapped in fear, unhealthy relationship patterns, and emotional hypervigilance.

You'll learn what bitter root expectancies are, how they form, how they affect your relationships and decision-making, and practical, biblical steps to begin breaking agreement with these fear-based beliefs and embracing God's truth.

Jessica also shares her personal testimony of how childhood rejection created an expectancy of abandonment, how that affected her relationships for years, and how the Holy Spirit brought healing and freedom.

In This Episode:

What bitter root expectancies are

Why our hearts form protective predictions after painful experiences

Common signs that you may be carrying unhealthy expectancies

Practical steps to identify and break agreement with bitter root expectancies

A closing prayer for healing and freedom

Scriptures Mentioned:

Proverbs 13:12

Romans 12:2

Inner Healing Support

If this episode stirred something in your heart and you feel the Holy Spirit inviting you into a deeper place of healing, you don't have to walk that journey alone.
