[…] And she lived with her brother who sat in a wheelchair. He had a medical issue. And she was bored. And so this woman could afford taking pictures. She had the leisure time. She had the time. She was not busy cooking in the kitchen or taking care of kids. Marie Al-Khazin did not get married, was not interested in getting married, apparently, according to the family. And she was obsessed with taking photos. So most of her photos are about this lifestyle or daily life in and around the Khazin family house, children, family members. And the photos include not only this bourgeoisie who used to come and visit the family house, but also the peasants who harvested the land. […]
