Mit Satelliten zu mehr globaler Gerechtigkeit

Technische Innovationen wie künstliche Intelligenz, Satellitentechnologie, Big Data, haben deutlich gemacht: Das Ungleichgewicht des Klimawandels. Stark betroffene Staaten des globalen Südens im Gegensatz zu aktuell noch weit weniger betroffenen Staaten des globalen Nordens. Was die Karten leider nicht zeigen, ist das Ungleichgewicht von Verursacher und Folgeträger. Und auch, was es für sie bedeutet, in erneuerbare Energien zu investieren, die industrielle Dekarbonisierung anzutreiben oder moderne Werkstoffe einzusetzen. Die 28. Klimakonferenz der Vereinten Nationen in Dubai setzt deshalb einen Fokus auf Technologie und Innovation. Was eine dieser technischen Innovationen, nämlich die Erdbeobachtung durch Satelliten, für mehr globale Gerechtigkeit tun können, besprechen wir, zum Ausklang der diesjährigen Klimakonferenz der Vereinten Nationen heute Martin Polak, Senior Director bei Planet Labs.

Frauen in afrikanischen Gesundheitssystemen

Frauen bilden dasRückgrat des Gesundheitssystems auf dem afrikanischen Kontinent. Dabei wird ihre Arbeit oft schlecht oder gar nicht bezahlt. Mit nur 28 Prozent ist der afrikanische Kontinent die Region mit dem weltweit niedrigsten Anteil an Ärztinnen. Welche Auswirkungen dieses Ungleichgewicht auf die Gesundheit und Wirtschaft eines Landes hat und was gebraucht wird, um das zu verbessern, darüber sprechen wir in dieser Podcastausgabe mit Dr. Bärbel Kofler, Parlamentarische Staatssekretärin bei der Bundesministerin für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung.
