So our aquifer was formed over 15-ish thousand years ago, I think was the last of the draining and filling of Glacial Lake Missoula, which brought the substrate, the cobbles, the big rounded rocks through that hold water so well in our valley. If we look at our abundant water in the valley that is directly related to that filling of the bathtub and draining. And it continues to be sustained by the Clark Fork River as it comes through the Hellgate Canyon and spreads out and loses its water through the valley, spills up that bathtub. […]
