[…] Christians, non-Christians, Republicans, Democrats, they dehumanize the tribe that has a different perspective and they lump them all together and just give blanket, hasty generalizations over what they believe. And what that means is people are no longer heard for their individual thoughts, their individual merit. We're not all the same. And the minute we stop looking at each other as individuals with critical thinking and our own thoughts and our own stories, that doesn't change the truth of an issue. But it means that we're seeing the humanity in each individual rather than lumping them together into big groups and listening to what we've projected is that group. […]
