Ep. 17 - Darrell's Story: Victory and Hope in Jesus
Darrell tells his life's story of growing up in a Christian home and attending a Bible-preaching church because his dad broke the cycle of family chaos. Darrell shares that he knew the Christian life is what he wanted from a young age. Darrell reasons that without God, there's no design. Without a design and creator, things are random. If things are random, how do you develop a moral code? A society lacking a moral code has chaos and conflict which breeds hopelessness. Hopelessness leads to self-destructive behavior in a downward spiral.
Darrell shares how God wants us to overcome evil. Because God is governor of the universe, Darrell believes what God says and that he'll take care of us. Darrell opens up about losing his wife to cancer. Christians will suffer but not as badly as Jesus did.
Darrell is passionate about the Bible, praying with fellow believers in Jesus at church, and passing on God's word to the next generation. Darrell reflects on parenthood and how it reflects into his relationship with God. Darrell wants to pursue excellence, witness to Christ Jesus, and patiently treat others with dignity at work.
