The Angry Ops Guy Podcast is for digital marketing agency owners and operations leaders who are tired of advice that sounds great on paper but falls apart in real life.
Hosted by Mike Gualtieri, a battle-tested operator with nearly 20 years in digital marketing and more than 17 years inside one of the world’s largest global digital marketing networks, the show cuts through buzzwords, empty motivation, and so-called best practices that ignore how agencies actually run. This is operations as it really exists - messy, pressured, over-promised, and still expected to perform.
The podcast is built on real experience, blunt honesty, and a level of sarcasm that only comes from years spent fixing problems no one else wants to own, all while being responsible for keeping everything moving. It is not about inspiration or theory. It is about helping people who live this work every day make sense of it and, if possible, make it suck a little less.
Ep 33: François Muscat | Nobody Knows What Happens Next
François Muscat has spent more than 20 years watching digital marketing change, break, reinvent itself and then change all over again. As one of WSI's original voices in SEO and someone who has played an important role in Mike's own career, François joins the podcast to talk about where it all started, the relationships that helped him build a business from South Africa, and why he's still fascinated by figuring out what comes next.
And right now, what comes next is a pretty big question. Search behaviour is changing, website traffic is disappearing, AI is rewriting how people find businesses, and everyone seems eager to declare SEO dead again. François has a very different view. He and Mike get into what we're measuring wrong, what still matters, and why this might be one of the most interesting shifts they've seen yet. François may be stepping back from the day-to-day, but good luck convincing him to stop figuring out what comes next.

Ep 32: Christina Pilarski | You Can't Scale a Control Freak
Christina Pilarski is back on the Angry Ops Guy Podcast, returning to the chaos she helped create in Season 1 for a conversation about what happens when experienced operators finally realize they cannot keep being the answer to every problem in the agency. She and Mike get into delegation, leadership teams, client dependency, visionary and integrator dynamics, and the uncomfortable truth that sometimes the biggest thing standing between an agency and its next stage of growth is the operator who refuses to get out of the weeds.
The conversation quickly becomes a pretty honest look at leadership maturity, control, burnout, and the strange amount of self-worth operators attach to being the person everyone needs. Christina shares what changed when she stopped trying to wear every hat and started trusting the right people to own their lane, while Mike slowly realizes that a disturbing amount of the advice probably applies directly to him. Same Angry Ops energy, a little more scar tissue, and absolutely no evidence that either of them has fully figured agency life out.

Ep 31: Lenny Dingemans | You Can't Teach Agency Life
Lenny Dingemans, Senior Project Manager at WSI Comandix and Mike's right-hand man in production, joins the Angry Ops Guy after nearly 16 years of surviving agency operations together. They get into what it actually takes to work at agency pace, why real project management is learned in the trenches, the obsession with quality that has shaped both of their careers, and how a nervous kid Mike absolutely did not want to hire somehow became the person he trusts to run the department he spent years trying to escape.
Mostly, though, this is two longtime friends shooting the shit about growing up together inside an agency. There are late nights, broken websites, wrestling on company time, questionable management techniques and enough evidence to confirm that Comandix was probably better off without an HR department. Underneath all the nonsense is a story about loyalty, mentorship, trust, and what happens when someone you once had to push becomes better at the job than you ever were.
