Experimenting with Aliveness
Chrissy and Jessi discussed their upcoming six-week "Aliveness Experiment" starting November 1st, which will include weekly video teachings and daily aliveness experiments for participants to explore vitality and presence during the winter season. Chrissy shared how she discovered the concept of aliveness through her work with vitality in her late twenties, and recently posted about reframing her pregnancy intentions to focus on being "pregnant with curiosity, compassion, and presence" rather than just physical pregnancy. The conversation explored how aliveness connects with death and impermanence, with Jessi noting how winter gathering traditions reflect humanity's historical orientation toward coming together during darker times. They discussed how the communal aspect of the experiment would provide support for processing heavier emotions while embracing life's full spectrum of experiences. Micro-Dosing the Mystery
This is a fun one friends. We invite on our fellow mystic nymph, herbalist, and lover of chickens, Steph Hardie, to jam on what self-care looks like when we broaden our lens. We explore: Why we feel it’s important to move from the tunnel vision/naval gazing of self care to caring about community How our patterns within interpersonal relationships mirror pattern with inner relationships How self care changes when we challenge the concept of “other” and feel into the mystery of “we are part AND whole” How “gap gazing” creates a fixation on “not enoughness” which inherently limits our potential How we each “micro-dose the mystery” to help us ride life’s waves and digest what can’t be known If you want to join all three of us on retreat this fall, register here! https://www.wildessence.org/samhainsanctum (https://www.wildessence.org/samhainsanctum) Connect with Chrissy over at: www.theartofaliveness.com Connect with Jessi over at: www.wildessence.org Connect with Steph over at: https://www.gateandgardenherbals.com

Embracing the Unexpected
In this episode, Chrissy shares her experience with an ectopic pregnancy last week after miscarrying her first pregnancy in June. She discusses the insights from this journey, emphasizing the importance of allowing meaning to emerge naturally rather than rushing to create it. Jessi also shares her experiences with poorly held group processing spaces, and how this led to a slow drip methodology in her own practice and a focus on self-responsibility rather than trying to control others' experiences in group settings. Chrissy and Jessi discuss the importance of vulnerability and support in human interactions, emphasizing the need to approach others with humility and openness. They explore how assumptions and projections can hinder connection, and discuss how we can hold each other better in moments of struggle. They also discuss the importance of small, consistent changes over dramatic ones, drawing parallels to the concept of "micro-nudges" and the book Atomic Habits. They explore how fear of change and the need to sacrifice familiar comfort for new goals can create barriers, with Jessi sharing her personal experience of overcoming these challenges, particularly in pursuing her passion for singing. They agreed that transformation often requires a gradual approach, with devotion rather than discipline being a more effective motivator for lasting change.
