What if being the “good girl” is costing you more than you realize?
In this episode, we explore how years of being agreeable, responsible, helpful, and attuned to everyone else’s needs can lead to self-abandonment, overfunctioning, exhaustion, and disconnection from your own needs.
We’ll look at why saying no can feel so uncomfortable, how the good-girl pattern shows up in your body and relationships, and what it looks like to stop abandoning yourself in order to keep everyone else happy.

Stop Trying to Fix the Relationship: When Overfunctioning Keeps You Stuck
In this episode, I’m getting a little more personal about what happens when we take responsibility for managing our relationships.
Trying to fix problems, smooth things over, and make things work, even when the other person isn’t meeting us halfway.
I share some of my own experience with this pattern and what I’ve been realizing about how exhausting it is to constantly carry the responsibility for a relationship.
For so long, I believed that if I could just find the right words, do the right thing, or try a little harder, I could fix what felt broken.
But I’m learning that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop managing the relationship and allow it to be what it is.
To let go of fixing, controlling, and overfunctioning and choose to take care of ourselves instead.

You’re Not Responsible for Everyone’s Feelings: The Exhaustion of Managing Everyone Around You
What if part of your exhaustion isn't just from everything you're doing—but from everything you're trying to manage that was never actually yours to manage?
If you've spent years being the strong one, keeping the peace, anticipating everyone's needs, monitoring other people's moods, or trying to make sure everything goes smoothly, you may be carrying far more emotional responsibility than you realize.
In this episode, we’re talking about the hidden ways we try to manage other people's feelings and control outcomes—and why it can leave you feeling depleted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from yourself.
We'll explore:
• The difference between caring about someone and managing their emotions• How monitoring other people's moods can become a full-time job• Why we try to prevent disappointment, conflict, or uncomfortable reactions• The connection between people-pleasing, overfunctioning, and control• How trying to control outcomes can keep your nervous system constantly “on”• Why perimenopause and midlife can make these old coping strategies harder to sustain• What it looks like to stop taking responsibility for what isn't yours• How coming back to your own needs, body, feelings, and voice can restore your energy
You don't have to stop caring about people. You don't have to become selfish. You simply get to stop abandoning yourself in order to keep everyone else okay.
This is the deeper work behind Regulated & Radiant: learning to come home to yourself instead of spending your life managing everything and everyone around you.
