An invitation to see, celebrate, and share what makes our souls say, "oh!" An invitation to wonder, connection, and hope.

Remember last week when I told you we were preparing for a potential hurricane hit over the weekend? Well, there wasn’t anything potential about it. The rain wasn’t an issue, but the winds really got us (thanks to a rare weather phenomenon known as a sting jet (https://www.pnj.com/story/weather/hurricanes/2026/10/12/hurricane-isaias-winds-rivaled-hurricane-ivan/92219313007/)), and there were pockets of extreme devastation across our community.
There were several scary hours when the sustained winds wreaked havoc on so many oaks in the area. Our home was untouched; but so many homes, schools, and businesses were damaged by falling trees and limbs and high winds. We were without power for four nights (absolute peanuts compared to some), and schools are closed all week. Funnily enough, the podcast I had planned to record and release this week is all about limits — so, how perfectly fitting that I am leaning into my limits this week and saving that one for next.
The word soft (and the truth of what a gift it is) popped up in a book (https://emilywilsonministries.com/sincerelystoneheart) I started reading and a Substack post (https://joannagoddard.substack.com/p/morgane-sezalory-interview-sezane) that came across my desk — both yesterday. It made me think of this sweet revelation from Psalm 37 that encouraged my heart in ways I desperately needed a couple years ago.
Y’all, I listened to this recording and sat speechless — this may have been recorded two years ago, but it is absolutely for you today.
I cannot get over how full circle it is to where I’m at right now, and I know it will meet you right where you are.

Vulnerability and Celebration
An embarrassing story, a happy ending, and getting to use two of my favorite words (proportional and begets) in a podcast — this one has got it all, y’all.

You’re here for a reason.
September is Suicide Prevention Month, and I want to take a few minutes to read something (https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/youre-here-for-a-reason_nancy-tillman/9652555/item/32238583/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=us_shopping_zombies_childrens_used_24264093778&utm_adgroup=&utm_term=&utm_content=825016100864&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=24264093778&gbraid=0AAAAADwY45g71zjRwxk9147Kf-oVREwTK&gclid=CjwKCAjw_KjVBhAHEiwAnC0N9PhPX1KIlIE41sPMicaDNdYTdVUKQbBrLbLvqA5qFOvGJApz0fX3sRoCS_sQAvD_BwE#idiq=32238583&edition=9054632) I believe is a reminder we all need every now and then.
If you’re struggling — please reach out to a friend, a neighbor, a coworker, a cashier, anyone. Or call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
