When Was the Last Time You Actually Looked Up?
Ashley has spent much of her life striving—to achieve more, become better, build something meaningful, and make the most of every opportunity. But lately, God has been interrupting her constant movement with one word: contentment.
In this honest reflection, Ashley explores the difference between healthy ambition and allowing achievement to become an idol. Through a broken-down car, an injured toe, an unfinished project, and the lessons of Philippians 4 and Psalm 23, she considers what it means to be still, appreciate the life in front of her, and trust that Christ is enough—even if nothing changes.
If you’ve been rushing toward the next goal while struggling to rest in what God has already provided, this episode is your invitation to slow down, look up, and remember: you are already held.
Follow The Ashley Scott Podcast for more honest conversations about faith, growth, leadership, and becoming—and share this episode with one woman who needs permission to stop striving.

When the Neighborhood Pharmacy Closes
A letter announcing the closure of Ashley’s neighborhood Walgreens raised a bigger question: what happens to the people who depend on a nearby pharmacy?
Drawing on what she witnessed when pharmacies closed in Roxbury, MA, Ashley talks about the neighbors who may have to travel farther for prescriptions and everyday essentials—and why a familiar pharmacist can matter so much. This episode is an invitation to pay attention to what a closure could mean for your community, and to ask who might be left struggling to get what they need.
Has a neighborhood pharmacy closed near you? Ashley would love to hear what changed.

Don't Give Up Before The Harvest
What do you do when you believe God called you to build, but all you hear is crickets?
In this honest episode, Ashley shares the discouragement of launching her leadership business, sending messages into silence, and wondering when the work will finally bear fruit. Grounded in Galatians 6:9 and Joshua 1:9, she reflects on why slow results aren’t the same as failure, how God meets us in our weariness, and the evidence that He may already be working before the breakthrough arrives.
If you’re tired, scared, or tempted to quit, this is your reminder: stay the course. God is with you.
If this episode encouraged you, follow The Ashley Scott Podcast and share it with one woman who needs the reminder not to give up.

I Thought It Was a Scam: How I Ended Up on The Jennifer Hudson Show
Ashley Scott is finally telling the story behind one of the most unexpected moments of her life: ending up on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
It started with a message she was pretty sure was a scam.
After handing it over to her husband for investigation—and getting the official “It checks out. She’s good!”—what followed was an experience Ashley never could have planned for herself.
In this episode of The Ashley Scott Podcast, Ashley takes listeners behind the scenes of how the opportunity came together, what it was like working with the show’s team, and the surreal experience of sitting across from Jennifer Hudson.
But underneath the excitement is something deeper. The opportunity arrived during a year when Ashley had experienced tremendous loss and simply needed a win. Looking back, she reflects on what that moment meant to her then, and what she understands about it now.
It’s a story about an unexpected DM turned once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and a reminder that sometimes joy finds us right when we need it most.

I Just Really Love God!
After returning to Illinois and slowly reconnecting with old friends, Ashley began noticing just how naturally God enters her conversations.
In this short, heartfelt episode, she reflects on why her love for Him shows up in her friendships, marriage, parenting, hardships and celebrations.
With humor, emotion and unapologetic faith, Ashley shares the joy, conviction and security she has found in serving God, and why she refuses to make herself smaller to make her faith more comfortable for others.

Stop Letting People Tell You Who You Are
Ashley grew up believing her voice was one of her greatest gifts, until a few careless words made her question everything she thought she knew about herself.
In this episode, Ashley shares how she went from feeling like a star to shrinking in rooms filled with talented people, and how she eventually learned to stop giving others the authority to define her. She explores the danger of building an identity on affirmation, why engagement is not the same as impact, and how she uses Scripture to guard her heart, confront insecurity, and steward what God placed inside of her.

Why Great Employees Become Struggling Managers
What happens when someone excels at their job, earns a promotion, and suddenly becomes responsible for leading people without ever being taught how?
In this episode, I’m sharing why I created Ashley Scott Media and why developing capable, confident leaders has become so important to me. Drawing from my own experiences as both an employee and a leader, I explore the consequences of promoting people into management without giving them the tools to communicate clearly, provide meaningful feedback, navigate conflict, or develop their teams.
The research makes the need clear: managers account for at least 70 percent of the variation in team engagement, yet far too many employees still feel unseen, unsupported, and disconnected at work.
This is the leadership gap Ashley Scott Media was created to address—because when one leader grows, the impact can transform an entire organization.

When Obedience Looks Like Letting Go: Why I Closed PBF
When something you built with your whole heart comes to an end, it’s easy to believe it failed. But when God is in the midst, nothing is wasted.
In this episode, I share the story of founding Powerful, Beautiful, Fierce, a nonprofit organization created to give women of color greater access to mentorship, resources, and belonging—and why I ultimately made the painful decision to close it.
I reflect on the loss of my father, becoming my mother’s caregiver, moving home, growing in my faith, and realizing that obedience sometimes requires us to release what once felt like the dream. Closing PBF brought grief and embarrassment, but it also refined my identity, clarified my convictions, and created space for what God was calling me to build next.
If you’re questioning whether the end of something meaningful makes it a failure, this episode is for you. Sometimes what feels like an ending is God refining you for what’s next.

Granny's Eternal Happy Hour
As my 96-year-old grandmother neared the end of her life, I’m reflecting on what it means to lose the final member of an extraordinary generation, and to carry her legacy forward.
In this deeply personal episode, I share one of my most treasured memories of Granny, the faith-filled response she gave when I asked if she would miss us, and the comfort of imagining her preparing for an eternal reunion with everyone she has loved and lost. This is a reflection on grief, generational legacy, becoming, and the sacred responsibility of pouring yesterday’s wisdom into tomorrow’s women.
What is your fondest, funniest, or most familiar memory of your grandparent? I’d love to hear it.
