Episode 12: Alex Murdaugh: The Fallen Heir

In this episode of The Astrology of the Underworld, we break down the chart of Alex Murdaugh, the fallen heir to a legal dynasty whose life unraveled into fraud, addiction, corruption, and the murder of his wife and son. We look at some of the most disturbing signatures in the chart, including a Gemini stellium, Sun conjunct Moon, Mercury conjunct Mars, Venus conjunct Lilith in Taurus, Neptune in Scorpio, and powerful patterns of excess, deceit, rage, and inflation. Throughout the episode, we explore how these placements can reflect charm, duplicity, hidden violence, entitlement, and a shadow life that thrived beneath the surface of respectability. This episode examines the shadow directly, tracing the archetypal patterns moving beneath the mask of the pillar of the community, the husband, the father, and the keeper of a crumbling family empire. We also talk about the financial fraud, the opioid addiction, the abuse of power, the suspicious deaths orbiting the family, and the terrifying lengths someone will go to in order to preserve status, image, and control.

Episode 11: Brian Kohberger: The Scholar of Death

New episode out today. Episode 11 of The Astrology of the Underworld takes on Bryan Kohberger, the man convicted of murdering four University of Idaho students in 2022. In this episode, we look at a chart saturated with Scorpio, including a massive stellium of Sun, Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury, the North Node, and Venus, along with a grand trine and a volatile Jupiter-Mars square that points to hidden rage, obsession, psychic pressure, and the potential for violent escalation. We talk about the concentrated force of all that Scorpio energy, the emotional intensity of a Cancer Moon, the perfectionism and wounding suggested by Chiron in Virgo, and the way his chart seems to reflect secrecy, fixation, alienation, and a deep instability around power, rejection, and control. We also get into the stalking, the institutional obsession, the strange sterility of his presentation, and the disturbing possibility that his studies in criminology became tangled up with his own compulsions. This episode explores what happens when enormous psychic intensity hardens into obsession, when wounds calcify into rage, and when a person begins organizing their life around domination, surveillance, and violence.

Episode 10: John Meehan: Dirty John

In this episode of The Astrology of the Underworld, we break down the chart of John Meehan, the con artist, serial abuser, and manipulator better known as Dirty John. We look at some of the most disturbing signatures in the chart, including a Mercury square Neptune aspect that speaks to deception, distortion, and the manufacturing of false realities, along with Venus in Pisces opposing Pluto in Virgo, which can point to manipulation, emotional confusion, and power struggles in relationships. We also explore the possibility of Scorpio rising, which would place Jupiter and Neptune in the first house and add another layer to the charm, projection, and psychological fog that seemed to follow him everywhere. Throughout the episode, we examine how these placements can reflect themes of coercion, fraud, narcissistic injury, control, rage, and the weaponization of vulnerability. We also talk about the family system that shaped him, especially the role of his father, and how early conditioning around deceit, bodily harm, and exploitation may have hardened into a life organized around domination. This conversation is an inquiry into how archetypal patterns can manifest in profoundly destructive ways when they move through an unconscious, unethical, and predatory personality structure. We also spend time with the women at the center of this story, especially Debra and Tara Newell, whose intuition, endurance, and fight for survival shape the emotional core of the episode.

Episode 9: Chris Watts The Hollow Man

In this episode of The Astrology of the Underworld, we break down the chart of Chris Watts, the man who murdered his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two young daughters in one of the most horrifying family annihilation cases in recent memory. We look at some of the most disturbing signatures in the chart, including Mars conjunct Chiron in Gemini, Moon conjunct Lilith in Aries, Mercury in Taurus trine Neptune, and strong Scorpio-Pluto themes. Throughout the episode, we explore how these placements can reflect repression, hidden rage, emotional shutdown, distorted communication, and violence festering beneath an outwardly quiet exterior. This episode examines the shadow directly, tracing the archetypal patterns moving beneath the mask of the “good guy,” the family man, and the devoted husband. We also talk about the psychological dynamics at the heart of this case: emotional suppression, covert resentment, infidelity, image management, and the terrifying banality of someone who appeared ordinary while carrying something devastating just under the surface. If you are interested in true crime, criminal psychology, and archetypal astrology, this episode is for you. Listen now and let us know what you think in the comments.

Episode 8: Keith Raniere:The NXIVM Cult Leader

In this episode of The Astrology of the Underworld, we break down the chart of Keith Raniere, the founder of NXIVM, the so-called self-improvement organization that was, in reality, a system of manipulation, coercion, abuse, and sex trafficking. We look at some of the most disturbing signatures in the chart, including Sun conjunct Pluto in Virgo, Mercury conjunct Uranus in Leo, Jupiter in Sagittarius square Venus, and an especially troubling unaspected Mars in Gemini. Throughout the episode, we explore how these placements can reflect themes of power, domination, ideological inflation, deception, grandiosity, and aggression without brakes. This conversation is not about excusing harm. It is about looking directly at the shadow and naming the archetypal patterns at work beneath the mask of the “guru,” the humanitarian, and the healer. We also talk about the psychological manipulation at the heart of NXIVM: the coercion, the branding, the starvation, the isolation, and the way spiritual language was used to control women and disguise violence as growth. If you are interested in true crime, cult psychology, and archetypal astrology, this episode is for you. Listen now and let us know what you think in the comments.

Episode 7 Harvey Weinstein: The Princess Maker Predator

In Episode 7 of The Astrology of the Underworld, we turn our attention to one of the most infamous figures in modern Hollywood: Harvey Weinstein. For decades, Weinstein operated as a powerful gatekeeper in the film industry, co-founding Miramax and later The Weinstein Company, helping produce award-winning films while wielding extraordinary influence over careers. Behind that power, however, lay a long pattern of coercion, intimidation, and abuse that would eventually lead to his conviction and imprisonment. In this episode, Coco and Chris examine the astrological signatures that may reflect the psychology of power, secrecy, and downfall in Weinstein’s chart. From a proposed Aries rising with Jupiter in the first house, to a volatile T-square involving Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune, the chart suggests themes of grandiosity, control, insecurity, and ultimately self-undoing. We also discuss: • Weinstein’s rise as a Hollywood kingmaker • The culture of silence and NDAs that protected him for decades • The investigative journalism that helped expose the truth • The dynamics of power, coercion, and consent in the entertainment industry • How astrology can illuminate patterns of behavior without excusing them Weinstein’s story is a stark example of how unchecked power, insecurity, and entitlement can shape a life and eventually collapse under its own weight. At the end of the day, this episode asks a difficult question: What happens when someone believes they are untouchable?

Episode 6: Brian Laundrie: The Van Life Killer

In episode six of The Astrology of the Underworld Podcast, Coco and Chris cover Brian Laundrie, the man at the center of the Gabby Petito case, and what this story revealed about whose disappearances get national attention and whose are ignored, especially Indigenous women who have gone missing in the same regions for years. We walk through the timeline: the van life road trip, the bodycam footage from August 12, 2021 in Utah, the missed opportunity for intervention, Gabby’s disappearance, and the aftermath. We talk about the role of police culture, the way domestic violence is routinely mishandled, and the unsettling behavior of Laundrie’s parents during the search. We also discuss the discovery of Gabby’s body, the determination of manual strangulation, and Laundrie’s death by gunshot in Florida, along with the note he left that attempted to control the narrative even after everything was done. Astrology-wise, we break down his chart and the emotional patterning we see: intense insecurity, a controlling persona, and what Coco reads as the central signature, Moon in Cancer, with a strong “basket configuration” emphasis that makes the Moon the focal point. Coco also guesstimates a Sagittarius rising to explore how he performed a philosophical identity in public while functioning very differently behind closed doors. We discuss the mother dynamic, the fear of abandonment, and the way anger, shame, and control can fuse in relationships when someone refuses accountability. Coco also shares the key transits during the late August 2021 window that align with the estimated timeframe of Gabby’s death. Content warning: domestic violence, coercive control, emotional abuse, death, and trauma.

Episode 5: Wade Wilson: The Deadpool Killer

In episode five of The Astrology of the Underworld Podcast, Coco and Chris cover Wade Wilson, also known online as the “Deadpool killer.” Born May 20, 1994 (Sun in Taurus), Wade Wilson was convicted of the murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz in Cape Coral, Florida on October 7, 2019, and was sentenced to death in 2024. We walk through the timeline of the crimes, the attempted attack on his girlfriend, the call to his biological father where he confessed, and the arrest that followed. This episode also looks at the unsettling fanbase phenomenon: how his looks, charm, and performative persona have attracted a wave of supporters sending him money, gifts, and attention even after conviction. We discuss the psychological pull of the “outlaw” archetype and why people project redemption onto men who have shown none. Astrology-wise, we don’t have an exact birth time, but Coco guesstimates a Gemini rising to explore the “charming monster with two faces,” placing Mercury and Venus in Gemini in the 1st house as a signature of persuasion, dual presentation, and magnetism. We also talk about the bigger patterning in the chart: the Sun at 29° Taurus, the Moon and Chiron in Virgo themes, the Pluto polarity, and the Uranus-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn, especially as it relates to chaos, drugs, and harm. We also wrestle with the moral tension of Wade’s history of multiple childhood concussions and what that might mean for impulse control, responsibility, and accountability. Content warning: graphic violence, domestic violence, sexual violence references, and death. Next episode: Brian Laundrie.

Episode 4: Joseph James DeAngelo: The Golden State Killer

In this episode of The Astrology of the Underworld Podcast, Coco and Chris take on one of California’s most infamous cases: Joseph James DeAngelo, better known as the Golden State Killer. Coco shares a chilling personal story from her teen years in Citrus Heights: recurring late-night cigarette smoke outside the house, relentless prank calls, and a voice that didn’t feel real… until years later, when DeAngelo’s recorded messages became public and everything clicked. The exaggerated heavy breathing, the taunts, the feeling of being watched, all suddenly connected to a name. We break down the timeline of DeAngelo’s crimes across California and the many aliases assigned to him before investigators realized they were hunting one person: the Visalia Ransacker, the East Area Rapist, and the Original Night Stalker. We also discuss the 2018 arrest through investigative genetic genealogy and what it meant to finally bring him to justice. Then we shift into the astrology: Coco explores DeAngelo’s chart (no confirmed birth time), the themes of power, secrecy, shame, and violence, and how archetypal patterns can show up in radically different ways depending on the choices someone makes. We also talk about the danger of charisma and “respectable” masks, including DeAngelo’s time as a police officer, and how systems can miss what’s hiding in plain sight. ⚠️ Content warning: This episode contains discussion of sexual violence, assault, murder, and trauma. If you’re a survivor, please take care of yourself and skip this one if you need to.

Episode 3: Robert Hendy-Freegard: The Puppet Master

Robert Hendy‑Freegard – “The Puppet Master” In this episode of Astrology of the Underworld we tackle the curious case of Robert Hendy‑Freegard, the British con‑artist who spent years posing as an undercover MI5 agent. Freegard convinced his victims they were under threat from IRA assassins, coerced them into cutting off loved ones and performing “loyalty tests,” and drained their finances. He seduced and exploited multiple women and, in 2005, was convicted of kidnapping, theft and deception before his release in 2009; he resurfaced again when French police arrested him in 2022. We explore his natal chart—Mercury and the Sun both in Pisces, giving him an instinctive, highly intuitive mind, and Venus in Capricorn, lending a detached, structured approach to relationships—and consider how these placements may have played into his ability to weave elaborate lies and shape‑shift through different roles. Join us as we connect the astrological dots and reflect on what this infamous “Puppet Master” can teach us about charisma, control and the darker side of human persuasion.

Episode 2: Richard Sackler: The Opioid Overlord

Episode 2: Richard Sackler: The Opioid Overlord Our second episode dives into Richard Sackler’s natal chart and the broader context of his family’s role in the opioid epidemic. At the centre of his chart is a Mercury‑Sun conjunction in Pisces. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, a planet that dissolves boundaries; when Mercury (communication) and the Sun (identity) meet here, it can manifest as an instinctive, imaginative mind and a talent for bending reality. In the episode, we discuss how this placement supports Sackler’s ability to spin narratives and be “creative with his words.” We also explore his Venus in Aries, which is unaspected. An unaspected Venus suggests a difficulty connecting with others; in Aries it amplifies self‑interest and impulsivity. This combination could explain the cold, aloof persona he projects and his apparent disconnect from relational empathy. Beyond the chart, we talk about how the Sackler family revolutionised pharma advertising, using aggressive and creative campaigns to market OxyContin. Sackler himself was questioned for over eight hours in a 2015 deposition; when asked about his role and Purdue’s responsibility, he said “I don’t know” more than 100 times. We examine how his Piscean blend of imagination and evasion shows up in both his astrological makeup and his public testimony. These highlights set the stage for a deeper discussion of how planetary patterns can illuminate the behaviour of someone at the centre of one of the deadliest drug crises in American history.
