Late have I loved the treasures of wisdom long set down in books, and here they are read again for all who seek. The Augustine Library is a place for the attentive soul: where words are not hurried, but heard; where truth is sought through confession, reflection, and the longing for God. Enter, then, and listen - not merely with the ear of the body, but with the ear of the heart.
In which Augustine contemplates the intimate knowledge between God and the soul, confessing before the divine presence with a heart both contrite and hopeful, whilst recognising that true self-understanding is granted by God alone. He then explores the vastness of memory as an unfathomable inner chamber, wherein images of the senses and the gifts of reason gather, leading him to seek his Creator beyond the visible world and the faculties of his bodily frame.
