About The Ava Davis Show
Part raw confessional, part cultural dispatch, and always fully trans fabulous.
The Ava Davis Show is a scripted, stylized, and smartly irreverent series by Ava Davis—aka Her Grace, the Duchess of Grant Park. It blends artistic rants, cultural critiques, and behind-the-scenes reflections on filmmaking, queerness, Southern identity, and Black trans womanhood.
Whether Ava is breaking down current events, unpacking industry frustrations, or interviewing brilliant queer and allied creatives from across the South and beyond, this is a space for truth, joy, and unapologeti
How I Survived a Year Without Hormones
The Ava Davis Show – S4E04 (Recorded 25 May 2025)
In this vulnerable and deeply personal episode, Ava opens up about her fertility journey—what it meant to come off hormones for nearly a year, and the emotional, mental, and physical toll it took. From dysphoria and depression to the quiet fight to preserve hope, she walks us through the impossible decisions trans people often face in the pursuit of parenthood.
With humor, honesty, and a tiara’s worth of grace, Ava reflects on the power of HRT, the recovery process, and the return of her “superpowers”—just in time for Pride. This is more than a confessional. It’s a love letter to gender euphoria, resilience, and the community that helps us survive the darkest seasons.

Dear Prismatic Queerdom,
Alright, y’all. It’s been a while since I came to you all. And I thought I was going to be coming to you all monthly, but February had such huge curve balls thrown at me I had to reassess EV.ER.Y.THING!
So I go into progress on The Waltz, and more specifically a grant we were up for but all of the business things they don’t teach us creatives about business (no one taught us because we’re all winging it). And it was emotional. I had a full on “I can’t stop crying” episode at City Hall when confronted with some fees. But I go into that.
And … March 29th, Nicole from Critical Crop Top and I host another screening of From Atlanta, With Love, a night celebrating Atlanta women and LGBTQ filmmakers! Advance tickets are $10, $15 at the door. Doors open at 7:45 PM, screening starts at 8PM Hope to see you there!
Also, shout out to my viewers from Down Under (The Aussies!) I see y’all watching! Next episode, lemme know what I should mention!
Signed,
- AD

The Ava Davis Show - 30 January 2023 - "Transitioning and friends from days gone by"
Alright, y'all. Back with truly the 1st episode for the 3rd season - season 2 was really a wash. And I announce the amazing news as the latest board member for Out on Film, and how our missions align with my role as the Duchess of Grant Park, and helping queer filmmakers.
And then, I get into a trans issue. A transition related issue, of visting friends from the past, and how becoming one’s authentic self brings along the grief that one must deal with for the past and how perhaps relationships could have been different had one been authentic. That’s a sentence if I’ve ever seen one.
So, to sum things up - Out on Film (support, outonfilm.org), new anchor for This Way Out, a queer focused weekly news thingie (thiswayout.org, follow on your favorite podcast purveyor), and … yeah.
