Talking Marvel, Superman, and Why Superhero Stories Hit Different Now

The conversation between Slang and Asad jumps between personal updates, media tech, TV shows, and documentaries before moving into pop culture and political commentary. From there, it dives into Marvel’s evolving storytelling and cinematography, the impact of Netflix and Disney on the MCU, character depth in series like Daredevil, and debates around She-Hulk, misogyny, and representation. The discussion also covers Marvel’s post-Endgame struggles, project delays like Blade, and how oversaturation has affected quality. It wraps by comparing character growth in superhero films, breaking down Superman’s complexity, and looking ahead at the future of the DC Universe.00:00 Introduction and Personal Updates11:32 Media, Politics, and Social Commentary25:13 Marvel’s Storytelling, World-Building, and Viewer Engagement37:46 Marvel’s Production Challenges, Delays, and Quality Control56:57 Character Depth in Superhero Stories01:04:18 Superman and the Future of the DC Universe If you enjoyed the episode, hit follow and leave a review, it helps more people find the show!
