Welcome to the b*tch in my brain, the personal growth podcast where we address negative self-talk, build self-confidence, own our self-worth - and have a good ass time doing it. I’m josie woods, certified life coach, entrepreneur and light chaser on a mission to help women become their best. f*cking. selves.
You’re going to hear all about my experiences, my stories, my traumas and tips and tricks i’ve personally used that have moved me from the lost person I was into my most authentic self.
Happy listening!
Why can't I control you? It's the question at the center of this episode — and if you've ever tried to control, fix, or save someone you love, even when you knew it wasn't your job, you already know the feeling.
In this episode, I'm sharing about hitting my 3-year sobriety milestone, and the lesson that came with it that I didn't see coming: I have a savior complex. When someone I love is struggling, my first instinct is to jump in and fix it — the drinking, the relationship, whatever it is. For a long time I called that lovr. Turns out it a lot of it comes down to codependency.
I get into a specific moment that really cracked this open for me — watching someone I care about repeat patterns I used to live in myself, and realizing I couldn't save them from it no matter how much I wanted to. We talk about the difference between actually supporting someone and quietly trying to run their life for them, why you can't force someone to change before they're ready, and what it means to sit in non-judgment instead of jumping in to preach.
If you've ever wondered why you try to fix everyone, or how to stop trying to control the people you love, this one's for you

"People Are Not to Be Trusted"...
You know that moment when someone you trusted blindsides you — and your whole body just goes nope, wall up, we're done? Turns out that's not just a bad experience. That might be a limiting belief that's been quietly running your life since childhood.
In this episode, I'm getting into my own deep trust issues and how they've been blocking the thing I want most: real community. We're going all the way back — and once you start seeing where it started? Everything shifts.
This one's for anyone who keeps their circle small and calls it a personality trait. You might just be ready to let someone in.

Wait...Was That a Breakthrough?
You know those moments where all you want to say is "are you f*cking kidding me." ?! Well turns out... that's your healing journey showing up in disguise.
In this episode I'm getting into why our biggest self discovery moments aren't always happening on the yoga mat or at a retreat. They're happening in the ordinary, messy, unplanned moments of everyday life. And once you start seeing them that way? Everything shifts.
So this one's for anyone who's ever felt like they're doing personal growth wrong. You're not. You might just be looking in the wrong places.
